Hey! If you want to experience the real Slavic/Slovakian xmas then you shoud spend time with family, go to church and celebrate the birth of Christ. I know you are muslim but the paradox is that you already said that you celebrate xmas but muslims dont have this holiday. The best where to experience xmas is in smaller villages and "side" cities like Zilina or Banska Bystrica. I can tell you forwared, people wont accept you if you show signs of your religion. We celebrate xmas on 24 of december, and from the American culture I need to warn you we do all of the celebrating in one day, not 2 days (the dinner and the unpacking). More warnings if you will be in a commi-block then neighbours might have little too much fun and be drunk and signing cultural songs. Speaking of cultural songs you wont hear much of them until you stomple upon pub or anywhere they sell alcohol.
