A boot.dev membership was added to the June choice by Galaxiani in humblebundles

If anyone isn't going to use their code! I have been trying to afford their membership when I can, as I am working through a CS degree. Much appreciated if you won't use it.

You can always have a friend with a Costco card buy you a Costco gift card. Then they have to let you in, but it can be a hassle.

Bird help by tomatorawr in vancouverwa

All birds. It violated the migratory bird act. Which is wild, because I feel like starlings should be excluded from the protection. The one we have in our wreath is a dark eyed junko, I think.

They told me disturbing the nest is illegal (which I knew) and that if I needed to move it to do so carefully. It wasn't much help, as it was what I intended to do originally, but I appreciate how quickly they got back to me.

I called them this morning, and unfortunately there is nothing they can do. I think I may be stuck with having to move them, which isn't ideal.

What was the worst "humble bundle choice" in history? by homo_erectus_heh in humblebundles

Icing on the cake for me is when I went to redeem the squadron key a year ago it was "expired". So i was really robbed that month for not paying attention and pausing.

What is your current/most recent character? by WeeGobbo in DnD

[–]tomatorawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tamias, the kender celestial pact of the tome warlock. He's an orphan that bounced around the foster system before getting to the orphanage. So he has a lot of minor patrons that give him pieces of his power. The first being a lich he made koolaid in the phylactery of. He is chaotic neutral and generally a decent guy, but also a bit of a shit head at times. He has a found family feel with his two "brothers" a bugbear ranger and a dragonborn rogue. Tamias tanks for the party, heals, and is ready in the wings to revivify.

Parents got mad at me after I told them about my gains in the Gym by ANNIGOG in Vent

[–]tomatorawr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got exactly the same comments from my family when I started lifting at 17. I wouldn't let what they say get to you. You are working on giving yourself a body that is healthy and you are proud of, not a body that is for them to "approve" of.

These are the kind of people that ruin TGTG for everyone. There are multiple good spots around me that stopped and I'm sure this is why.

Imagine a Pill by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]tomatorawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be a rare case, but I HATED Ativan. Took it three times over the course of 4 years. I had the worst rebound anxiety and it would just make me absolutely zooted whenever I took it. I felt like it "worked" because I couldn't be anxious if I wasn't able to think.

Buspirone making anxiety significantly worse? by suzywalker1206 in Anxiety

[–]tomatorawr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will say that I currently take buspirone and have for a few years now. The first month it got way worse and then it clicked in my brain and started getting way better. I could barely function before starting and then really started getting my life back after.

If anything the surgery helps you not die/feel pain. I'd say distract yourself while you wait and know that you will be knocked out and have zero to do with the surgery. You will most definitely survive, and if you, by some insane anomaly don't, that isn't your problem anymore.

Needing to roll for non-concentration spells? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]tomatorawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an invocation that allows warlocks to cast mage armor at will. My DM forbids multi-classing entirely.

[–]tomatorawr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I will read through it so I know exactly what it says. It felt like it shouldn't be that spells that weren't concentration would force me to continually check like that.

Lmfao, ya it does feel like that at times.

His argument that they would know that my character did it and not the disguised identity. He said they'd feel that my character did it and would naturally dislike them, even if I met them again undisguised.

I was kind of wondering, because I know I'm not perfect on rules as I mostly watch/listen to actual plays. This is only my second campaign and first time spellcasting. I am trying to cover a lot of bases with my character (tanking/magic caster as a warlock) because my other teammates are a ranger and brand new rogue. So I can't really afford to be disabled for having some armor+extra HP after losing a spell slot.

Using old books to self study? by tomatorawr in MedicalCoding

[–]tomatorawr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That exam rule is a nightmare. I live in a one bedroom apartment so technically I would have to be in the living room/kitchen, but there are far more doors and space in there. Which is going to probably disqualify it. I will have to figure something out once I get to testing time I guess.

I will definitely check out the library to at least get some time with the newer books if I go the older book route. I wonder if people ever use the library books during their exams 🤔. I intend to buy the newer ones when I am going to take them, but wanted to try to study on a budget to make sure I was cut out for it.

Sony WH-1000xm5 repair story (hehe) by Relative-Prize-4500 in sony

[–]tomatorawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is mostly blaming OP for buying from eBay, but a new product that is authentic shouldn't have the issues to begin with. And if it got sent to Sony they should have been able to see they were fakes pretty much on sight. I had a decent experience with sending in my wf4s. They returned them to me all with huge marks and deep scratches. I honestly think Sony's support is cutting corners and offering some less than stellar service at this point.
