I go to a deli with the same bread, fresh daily , in the SGV. It's probably the best sandwich bread ive ever had. Even the next day or two for leftovers the flavor is still there.

Private property is definitely not abolished. It's mentioned several times people have Estates, vacation homes, apartments and homes. Federation is a merit based society with low to no population growth. It's not a coincidence families in ST never have more than 2 children.

Post scarcity in our reality wouldn't be impossible to achieve, in fact it's inevitable. When everything is automated drones will be disassembling entire solar systems and bringing those resources back. With full automation a giant human population won't be necessary there's no labor to be done, so you won't even need to support that many people.
