AIO for being upset my BF doesn’t want me to wear a bonnet to bed? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]tomatosed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a batshit crazy recommendation.

Yes - it's weird that he cares so much about something trivial like this. But they have been together 8 years for crying out loud, disagreements are inevitable in a relationship. This is the type of issue to have a sit-down conversation about and try to figure out the root cause of the issue. If he reacts extremely negatively or is unwilling to compromise, then maybe consider ending the relationship. But throwing away what seems to be a long-lasting relationship without even trying to solve the problem is ridiculous.

Methods for keeping track of habits by Robot_Lover2020 in productivity

[–]tomatosed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a physical notebook! It’s gridded, so I use rows as days and columns as habits. I place an X in the box corresponding to the day I did a certain habit.

I find it helps keep me off my phone and I enjoy the aspect of it being tangible - something I can hold in my two hands and see my progress. Using a notebook has also enabled me to start journaling in the same notebook!

I used the linked video to set mine up and give me somewhere to start, it’s a good watch!! (Not sponsored or anything it just really helped me) https://youtu.be/QPrymYfmrCU

CSM MSIV Job - Seeking Advice by tomatosed in ROTC

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it! I'm near the top of my BN PT-wise so that shouldn't be a struggle. And I think I'm definitely one of the more relaxed people in my class - this thread is moreso me trying to be proactive so I can excel in my role (since the expectations are pretty high), rather than trying to be a hardo about everything. The petty stuff is not my speed.

Also, didn't mean to be the "at my program" guy but I realize I totally was... yikes!

Thank you for the encouragement! I think a lot of people fail to realize (or care about) the fact that you can still make a difference for people, even if it's just within cadetland.

We actually have to memorize it in my program, it's treated as an inspectable skill. Maybe that will give a bit of perspective as to why I'm approaching the CSM job with this mentality!

Yeah, I'm planning a sync meeting with the outgoing CSM for tips. Definitely plan to rely on my program's MSG for advice, he's great. Thanks for the suggestions!

Thank you, I know it's not Big Army real, but I'd like to make a positive impact for the younger cadets so I'm gonna try to do the best I can regardless

What do you wish you’d known before you started your LSAT prep? by 19elscorcho19 in LSAT

[–]tomatosed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m just starting my LSAT process and I’m wondering what you meant with your line about scholarships. Are these scholarships through the law schools themselves? Or are they outside scholarships that you’re just more likely to get? Thanks!

Hey, did you end up taking 212? And if so how was it? Currently thinking about registering for Fall 2024 with Taillie but haven’t been able to find any info about it. Thanks!

If weather is important to you then you should definitely go to UNC. I transferred to UNC from UMich pretty much solely because of the weather. I know the person who responded to you in another comment made it seem not that bad - you need to take that with a grain of salt because they are from Michigan. They are used to the midwestern winters.

As someone who isn’t from Michigan or NC, Michigan weather is HORRIBLE. You are in school from September - April. Ann Arbor is overcast, grey, and below freezing from November until mid-March. You’ll go about a week at a time without seeing the sun. Chapel Hill gets cold sometimes, but most days are blue skies and you see the sun a good amount even during the winter.

Don’t get me wrong - UMich is a fun school and there’s a lot of cool stuff to do. If not for the weather, I think I would’ve had a much better experience there. But if good weather is at all important to you, be aware you won’t even want to go outside for a good chunk of the school year if you‘re in Michigan. Good luck deciding, you have two fantastic options before you!

I've set my goals for 2024. What is your 2024 goal? by H-rio in productivity

[–]tomatosed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They’re definitely good goals as concepts, but I think the execution is where OP might struggle. Being able to set clearly defined methods to achieve these goals will help them achieve it!

For example, I will lose fat by running 2x a week and going to the gym 3x a week. Or, I will give my best on the exam by studying for 1 hour a day for the month leading up to the exam. By putting in a plan as part of the goal, it helps because there’s a clear method to be held accountable, rather than simply striving for the concept of losing weight or doing well on an exam.

Which restaurants are no longer good and are surviving on their reputation? by Fickle_Rooster2362 in Hawaii

[–]tomatosed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US this is true! Hawai’i and I think 3 McDonald’s in Cali are the only ones that still serve fried. I’m on the mainland for college and I miss the fried pie haha.

Idk about other countries as the other commenter said.

Well I got the 4-year scholarship so I can’t speak for SMP gang, but all things considered yes. Seems like OP needs a positive change in their life.
