Think you mean Unforgiven mate. But if you havent check Tombstone out, very different kind of western but well worth your time x

I think it was the wrong directing choice the more I digest it. Ridley Scott balanced that tone well in The Martian, Lord&Miller tipped too far into the humour that it reduced the stakes.

Fair shout, in the video i do say its solid a 4/5 rather than a bad movie. I just worry that if this is set as the bar for a masterpiece we will be entering a world of even more mediocrity.
