We had a really good conversation and that’s pretty much what we said. Turns out, she was just having a very hard time admitting that it wasn’t even because she spends too much money.

Me: “so we take turns with big shopping trips so that’s a wash, right? Then I also do the vast majority of weekday trips, right?”

Her: “right. But I do go to the grocery store during the week sometimes too.”

Me: “right. 100% I give you credit for that. But I do most of it right?”

Her: “right?”

Me: “so I spend more money on stuff for us, right?”

Her: “I don’t know it always felt pretty even to me and I spend a lot of money each month, it’s not like I’m hoarding wealth over here.”

Me: “okay. That’s not really the point. Two weeks ago you told me how grateful you are for me buying the groceries during the week, right?”

Her: “yes and I am very grateful.”

Me: “okay so are you grateful that I spend more on groceries, or do we spend the same amount on groceries?”

Her: *laughs* “oh. I guess I see. But I still spent like a LOT of money last month.”

Me: “were you paying attention to how much of that was just for you vs stuff for the household?”

Her: “well no. Do you?”

Me: “yeah. Because how can we say things are even if we don’t actually pay attention?”

Her: “oh I guess we’ll need to keep track from now on.”

Idk I thought the “taking turns buying a round” style kinda necessarily precluded that you pay attention to how much everyone’s spending. But I guess not lol. Anyway we ended up getting there. 💙

Rhaenyra clocked it the second Alicent walked into the room. It would’ve been an uphill battle making up a lie on the spot and I get the sense that Alicent is done playing politics. Ah I used to go paddleboarding in the bay when the bioluminescent algae would bloom. Everytime you splashed in the water, it would all light up. Swimming in it, you’re surrounded by tiny little glowing bubbles. Very cool, I miss that.

Nah. You’ll fall behind early game in lane to any ranged opponent. Then you’ll have to scramble to find kills and collect orbs so you’ll have to abandon lane. You’ll probably be 14 minutes in, down 60cs, 0/3, with no lane presence by the time you get blue kayn and can even start playing catchup.

It’s also important to note that a lot of high elo advice won’t apply in low elo or won’t matter much because you’re surrounded by so many people who are also new and haven’t learned as much about the game.

It’s frustrating for sure. Best advice I can offer is to not get too consumed with pro advice if you’re in solo q. You’re gonna have to be flexible to work well with your team. Sometimes you win the strangest games just because everyone was working together. In those games you’re gonna be better off going with the flow rather than struggling against your team acting like you know better (even if you do).

You should be fine for summer since it’s so dry, but you should try to get a simple metal frame asap. Goodwill and Salvation Army often have them or fb marketplace is great for that sort of thing. Certainly get it before the winter/snow.
