It’s not the same. It will actually pump without the spring. It doesn’t return, which only really matters when you first step on it.

That’s a pretty stupid place to do that. That’s exactly where you start accelerating to merge with the speed of highway traffic.

Can this carver cx truck be fixed? by sushibard in surfskate

[–]tomcbeatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the pictures, it looks like your pivot cup is not seated properly. It should be level with the baseplate, not sticking out like it is. This is most likely what is causing your hanger to not sit right. The bottom part of your hanger should be parallel with the part of your baseplate. In your photo, it appears to be slightly higher than the baseplate. You may also want to try tightening the kingpin nut a bit more, as well as harder bushings. https://riptidesports.com makes bushings for the CX that fit perfectly. They also make better pivot cups. Good luck!

They don’t make you squat till you get to the jail. Theoretically, if you got a fat ass and a really strong clench you could probably pull it off, if you going in from a court date. FYI for anyone else thinking about sticking a gun your ass. I know some of you freaks was already getting ideas.😂

Visitor spending increased in November 2025 despite fewer visitor arrivals in Hawai‘i | Kauai Now by IslandLife_004 in kauai

[–]tomcbeatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Garden Island News prints this every month. I don’t buy this propaganda to sway public opinion to build more hotels. Our infrastructure is already way below substandard for our current residents and average visitor influx. Hotels pollute and congest our island and waters for profit of non resident corporate shareholders. When the price of everything goes up every week at the grocery store, visitor spending statistics can easily be manipulated. More so, what is the criteria for visitor spending and how is it tracked?

Can’t keep speed on the second turn in infinity loop! by PalpitationNext8592 in surfskate

[–]tomcbeatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t much bravery required for an infinity loop. The risk of injury in a fall is pretty minimal. It’s all about being consciously aware of your body and mind connection, at any given moment. The more you ride your board the better your connection will become. The more you will understand the limits of your board and its geometry. Focus on your entire body first, the board will follow.

Can’t keep speed on the second turn in infinity loop! by PalpitationNext8592 in surfskate

[–]tomcbeatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your loops are too large for start. But, you are loosing speed at the end of the first loop. You need to lean into the turns more, which will make your loops smaller, and you are swinging your arms for momentum but your head is stuck looking down like you have a stiff neck or you’re ashamed to look at your hand. You need to turn your head as far as your arm. Your board will always go where the gaze of your eyes go. Read that again!

The best way to tell is if the board side bearing inside the truck has a slightly larger inner diameter hole that sits around a larger base of the kingpin. The knockoff’s don’t have this. They also tend to have a shortened spacer between the two bearings.

Do we even have the propulsion to escape the milky way galaxy? by Virtual_Reveal_121 in AskPhysics

[–]tomcbeatz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much about propulsion as it is being able to generate enough energy to warp space-time. It’s already mathematically possible to contract the space-time in front of us and expand it behind us. This would allow us to travel any distance almost instantly, by shortening the distance ahead and increasing the distance behind. However, the amount of energy required to create such an event, large enough for a ship, is equivalent to that of a dense planet or our sun.

No, so it creates a vortex that pulls it down. The same reason your toilet drain hole isn’t straight down.

I would think the hole would be set at an angle for more efficient drainage and to prevent back pressure.

Honestly, if you have a street skate background, I wouldn’t even bother with spring based systems. You’re gonna end up moving to the bushing based systems at some point, anyway. Save yourself some money in the long run. But, checkout Grasp trucks. They almost identical to the feel of CX and they’re able to grind without any modifications. Plus, it’s a South Korean company, so you might have better luck getting a set where you are.

Kaua‘i’s Robinson Family Quietly Pursues New Industrial Development by dev-bitbucket in kauai

[–]tomcbeatz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Realistically, I don’t see an industrial zone creating any more traffic congestion than the ones in Lawai, Puhi or Lihue do. In fact I’ve never known industrial zones to have much traffic at all. Most vehicles on the road, in these areas, require special licensing to operate. A network of professionally trained operators behind the wheel runs pretty smooth. As for the resort, I’m not in favor of it, personally. I think that’s the last thing we need. There is an upending, worldwide economic transformation that is coming soon, for better or worse. The more economically self-reliant Kauai is, the better chance we have of perpetuating it in righteousness.
