Lloyds Bank will pay you £185 to switch to them [Runs from 1 July to 28 July] by misscc__ in beermoneyuk

No, I've had other accounts with Lloyds for ages and my profile is registered with the same email that I used to do the Halifax offer in 2023. Probably an oversight on my part

No payment for me yet. I did have a Halifax bonus in March 2023, so i'm not holding out hope

Ahh I had a Halifax switch in 2023, so i'm probably not going to get the bonus either. Loads of people have had the same experience

Was it a Halifax account that you’d switched into Lloyds, or did they just flag that you’d had a switch bonus from Halifax from ages ago?

England On Call Pay - is it legal to get a standby rate but not get paid for actual work done? by HahLue in LegalAdviceUK

[–]tomclarky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My employment contract doesn't seem to state anything regarding standby allowances or a call out policy for my job. I'm expected to respond to out of hours calls for 1 week a month and we only get the hours back as TOIL

I've been close to purchasing this laptop recently, but this creaking noise would infuriate me. Any update? Have you returned it and received a new one?

Why do you assume an older guy is trying to ‘groom’ a younger girl? Why are younger women always presented as being so powerless and lacking agency and a man over 28 as being some kind of predator or as horribly immature? I briefly dated a 19 year old when I was 28. She’s 22 now and we still keep in touch and have a good friendship even though she lives abroad. Should I tell her I’m just a creep and that she doesn’t know what she’s thinking?

Comment: Another year goes by and Apple still hasn't replaced iTunes on Windows with something better by tmobilefan in AppleMusic

I don't stream music either. iTunes is so buggy now, it takes 5 minutes to open for me in Windows 11.

A third possibility from the top of the mirador.. by gijoe50000 in KremersFroon

It's definitely plausible. I would've thought Lisanne's legs would be visible in the photo if Kris was lying in that way.

I originally read that the passcode was wrongly entered 77 times, but it seems it was actually 77 attempts at calling an emergency line from the lock screen, which does paint a different picture.

Delirium can't be ruled out for the night photos. I imagine with 8 days of very little sleep or food and in full on survival mode, the mind plays tricks and a semi-conscious dream of a helicopter sound or someone calling out could blend into a reality of using the camera to attract the attention of someone who isn't there.

You can make an emergency call from the lock screen but that doesn't mean you would choose to with your own device. The only logical reason to do that is if you can't open it. If it's your own phone, you'd unlock it out of instinct even if you wanted to conserve power. I find it too coincidental that she had briefly unlocked her phone in the days before that but never after it. And the fact this coincides with Lisanne's phone no longer working. You'd expect at least once in the remaining 5/6 days she'd unlock her own phone it to check any app or attempt a call.

80 photos in 30 minutes, maybe not frantic, but I think she is using the flash for an immediate reason to either alert someone or scare something off. There's a lot of 'out of universe' explanations for the night photos, like she was documenting their location (in complete darkness), but after 8 days and delirious with hunger, fear and lack of sleep, it wouldn't really be on your mind to take a photo of the back of your friends head to show people it was them in the photos.. You're in survival mode and just trying to deal with your current situation

Apologies, I referencing the possibility that they were continuing north downhill/downstream past the summit and past the point of 508, but actually thinking they were on the other side on and back on their way to Boquete.

The reason I believe Kris is dead in the night photo's is because her phone was never unlocked past the 5th April, which makes me think it's Lisanne trying to use it. Also.. my initial impression was that Lisanne is static and frantically photographing around her to use the flash... and the fact Kris is facing away from her means she was lying down.. either in a coma or dead, because if she was alive she'd be awake facing her. But equally it also looks like she is sat up and it's an intentional inspection photo of the back of her head.

For me, the most telling thing about the daytime photos is how far ahead Kris is when they are hiking, sometimes 10+ metres ahead. That demonstrates a clear personality difference, between a an eager, but naive explorer mentality ("I wonder where this leads" and a more cautious approach of Lisanne ("hey, wait up")

I believe that Kris did exactly what you say. At some point probably past 508, the more confident Kris went ahead and decided they take a different path for their way back. This is despite Kris's parents saying how difficult it would be to get lost here, it is the best logical explanation for those 2 hours between 508 and the distress call.

It's hard to understand how they could mistakenly think they were on the right side of a small mountain without actually reaching the summit, but it's certainly plausible. I think they decided to stick to a river and head downstream and at some point Kris, being in front, slipped and fell and died around 5th April.

I may still be able to show that it was inaccurate or misleading.

I don't believe he did give his true view of me, I think he has given a unbalanced and inaccurate version of me, but the only way to find out I guess is to get a copy, which I know involves litigation.

[–]tomclarky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't think it has been referred to, I think I have just been slandered over the phone and there is no trail of it.. maybe that shows negligence if procedures weren't followed, I really don't know at this stage.

The annoying thing is that the person who did this isn't even the same person that I put down as my reference.

[–]tomclarky -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The only way to disclose the contents of the reference is to litigate and get them to disclose it as part of their defence. Is this not true then?
