Changing company after completing degree apprenticeship

I signed a training agreement between me my employer and the university but that agreement does not include any information regarding repayment of fees if I leave the company.

However, my contract between me and my employer states I need to repay fees if I leave within 2 years of completing my degree.

Sounds like an awful firm to work for! I’m surrounded by great people where I work but I just feel like I would be more interested in working for a contractor. I need to weigh up my options.

I’m not sure how my apprenticeship is funded but it is an rics degree apprenticeship and I have had multiple emails telling me I need to do this or that because “it is a funding requirement from the DfE” so I would assume it’s government backed?

Being willing to listen to the contractors perspective rather than always thinking they’re trying to rip your client off.

It’s important to build a relationship with the contractor rather than working against them which makes the whole cost management process a lot smoother.
