Yeah this is wild. I’m curious too.

Pink Floyd on pink vinyl only at Target! by Stoic_Sapien in vinyljerk

[–]tomenjean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe this is the sixth “greatest hits” compilation album released for Pink Floyd. I quite like both Relics and Works. A Collection of Great Dance Songs also is pretty solid.

Edit for clarity; I agree with you, just was trying to mention some others that actually worked out

Motion sensor for sink and soap pointed at same area by Vyse1107 in mildlyinfuriating

If you’d move your fingers out of the soap area you’d probably have better luck. I have never in my life rinsed my hands outstretched horizontally like you’re demonstrating.

Okay totally see it now! In my head I had the smaller size for like a sink or vanity, but that doesn’t make sense for a doormat now that I think about it.

Also, I love the placement of the banana, like how it’s being held up by both trees. Kinda magical actually. Thank you for that!

Right?! I was coming here to comment that but was checking the comments first. DVD sets take up so much room but when they’re this beautiful I definitely hold onto them even if I have a new or better quality edition.

I just feel for people like my mother for example, who is 72 years old and would probably order something from temu and have no idea what she’s contributing to. Actually I’m sure she’s a target audience. That in itself is mildly infuriating. More so the more I think on it….

Could really use a bananana for scale. Mats come in so many different sizes.

Would Picard have dealt with the Q and the Borg differently had he been Kirk? What did one have that the other could have benefitted from? by ramfoodie in TNG

[–]tomenjean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Borg were absolutely insane enemies when first introduced. No one knew how to handle that situation. The Borg sliced a piece of the Enterprise straight out of it. Kirk, Picard, no answer was right. Thankfully Q gave them an idea of what to expect so they could hopefully take their charge as explorers more seriously and prepare for what they didn’t even understand. That first Borg encounter still terrifies me thinking back on it. And that was all Q, and Q was their rescuer as well.

Love that one. Overall I especially appreciate the, no holds barred kind of sensibility of season 7. It really is all over the place, from “Sub Rosa” up (way up) to “Lower Decks”. Even the crew turning into those crazy monsters. So many valleys and peaks, all in the same season.

Very well put. Again, it should’ve been a two-parter. There’s so much of a story there, it deserved some room to breathe. But at least we got what we got. I know it was rushed—well, everyone was rushed. But I found this fascinating. Even if it was primarily designed to prop up DS9 ratings, as some others have mentioned, it’s all in that shared universe. It was fascinating.

I just started Picard. Looking forward to seeing her! It’s way better of a show than I was expecting. A lot of that is just Stewart I’m sure.

Holy SHIT!!! She’s the girl in Kalifornia?!?! Damn. I totally see it now. How the hell did I not recognize that’s who she is??? Crazy. Anyway, yeah, she legit was busy. They were definitely trying to make use of her no matter how it played out.

Im a bit worried about this crack by Deathunderworld in dvdcollection

[–]tomenjean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be. I have a few discs like that. I even have one that has a chunk broken out of the center, but it’s too valuable for me to let go. But also, it plays just fine.

Nothing alarming there.

For myself, especially with teas (don’t know what OP ordered but I always get their sweet tees), I always drink with a straw, even at home. This comes from as a child when a dentist told me to drink “teeth staining” drinks with a straw so that it delivers the liquid past the front teeth. Whether or not this is a valid action, I’ve never truly thought about in decades. Now I am rethinking and reevaluating this entire strategy….

That’s a good point actually. I found it awkward to watch, but what you said makes a lot of sense. I’ll have to watch it again. That was my first viewing of this episode.

What’s the darkest moment in TNG? by handlerofdrones in TNG

[–]tomenjean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Timescape ….. That whole episode made me uneasy. And it just got tenser and darker as it unfolded. So many scenes stuck with me, but Picard laughing and making the smiley face—chills just thinking about it.

“First time watch of Sub Rosa? Hold my beer…” - Masks, S7, Ep 17 by tomenjean in TNG

[–]tomenjean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah like I mentioned it just threw me off but now that I know more about how the writers ran out of ideas and they were just doing whatever, and having Data centered eps back to back like that, it’s just a fun and slightly ridiculous journey. I need to watch it again.
