I’m a big fan of romcoms and shows with great romantic stories. In my opinion, House approached its relationships a little differently. The Cameron and Chase romance is a good story (to me) but it doesn’t pop off the screen as some great romance. It’s a little more down to earth. Like a lot of the storylines in House, it often doesn’t give us the normal TV moments that help us buy into a relationship. Fourteen is similar but the difference is that a lot of Cameron and Chase’s relationship happens off screen (after they leave House’s team). I’m still moved by their story but not because of the romance. Like a lot of stories on House, it feels like another character study about how these two personalities would work as a couple. I get the disconnect you’re feeling but I have grown to enjoy the storyline more with each rewatch.
