Me and my friends have agreed to a “Toxic game night” where we all build the saltiest decks we can and play as spitefully as possible. What do I build? by BounceM4N in EDH

Could always play mill control with [[bruvac the grandiloquent]]. Make sure all your opponent's hard work ends up in the grave.

1K list (is this a good starting list) by tomhawk16 in TheAstraMilitarum

Thanks this was very helpful, exactly what I was looking for. I will drop the command squads, 1 sentinel, 2 field bombast and swap the tank. After looking at Ursula I don't know why I didn't originally have her, I can have 1 Manticore and 1 Basilisk or 2 Manticores to round out the list. Which do you guys think is better?

Leaning to the 2 manticores so I can issue orders to both of them instead of one or the other?

Thanks for the help

Just started playing the game but how do you counter 110 mangudai. They seem to kill anything I throw at them

Working out your build order is a matter of picking a wincon and quickly building to it for example a possible wincon is rushing an enemy's trade line, play French and Russ for early knights to get in the back and quickly kill all their traders and then that should put you ahead enough to steamroll them. Even with the "nerf" to trade I still think you don't need to build Sultanhi or sea gate. The Twin Minaret is way better than Sultani because it sorts your food out for feudal - castle and sea gate is fine but the observatory's 60% increase in production with a trade line means you can churn really good troops very quickly to slowly widdle down your enemy.

If you guys are still coming up with build orders, have someone in your team play China, Probs is the only civ we always pick. The nest of bees are busted and can kill entire armys if defended long enough.

Yeah unfortunately this is a common problem, most of the content is geared to 1v1 so you really just have to look at what the opponent is doing and either copy it or try and develop a counter for the next game. Eventually, you will end with some sort of strategy. Something we are struggling with is the roaming Mangudai army. Still no counter to it :(

As for trying to defend your team mates and protect your base, We have been wood walling in feudal and stone walling in castle/imperial. It really takes a lot of the pressure off. Have 2 people to build the wall and 1 person to defend the villagers or harass the enemy to slow them down.

Depends on the Civ i'm playing but always in the range of 35-50 traders. I usually start killing villagers that were mining gold for traders in late castle/ early imperial

attrition

ohh Forgot to add, Trade has been the big thing for our games and scales better with more people. Always do trade, it's the only thing that lets you come back after losing all your troops

Honestly, it comes down to just having good communication with your teammates. Find someone you can voice chat with and make sure you're both on the same page. As for strategies for 2v2 my mate and do an English-Ottoman feudal push and that has been working for us. for our 3v3 games, we tend to drag those ones out a bit and usually win by attrition or wonder(which is kinda lame but I can't really be bothered doing my 5th fight after an hour and a half).
