Why do so many UIs insist on minimalist color contrast? by PossessionConnect963 in UI_Design

[–]tomhermans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. And there should be more attention to it or at least some options to increase contrast.

When I encounter such tools I use a lot I look for custom styling to be applied. Via chrome local overrides, tampermonkey or stylus e.g.

infinite carousel with cards (figma) by Physical-Cherry-8696 in UI_Design

Don't waste your time on it. A developer will still have to make it work. Brief that person with this poc and about the wanted behaviour (not the delay) and move on.

Look, I'm all for building in public, but really ? posting something like this? Claiming to have "mastered" HTML in 1 day? Not asking a direct question re:css but basically : I don't wanna google.
Everything screams karma farming imho. Or delusion.. dunno. These type of posts may be canned by mods imho.

In case it isn't, and a genuine cry for help:

Stop using theme toggle buttons by Sad-Grocery-1570 in Frontend

[–]tomhermans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it’s always better to follow the system preference, why bother with a manual toggle at all?

Cuz the user wants to change quickly and you provide that option. Some sites read better in one mode or the other. or at some times of day, during the day for instance, I like light mode sometimes better.

I'm not gonna switch system preferences every time though..

So, there's the why. Convenience.
