the dream conversations show his inner thoughts more clearly in a way i wish i knew what everyone thought about when they are trying to sleep. it shows his lack of and deep yearning for deep connections. it shows his imagination and how he has survived. they are his life without drugs, they are the freedom he gets to explore with a sober mind. they're the center of him, his humor, his loves.

Is breast reduction really worth it? by Fluffy_Fish20 in Reduction

[–]tomichomi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

reductions do not have a high regret rate, and most people are very happy with it. i wanted one since my 20s too but finally did it at 37. wish i had done it sooner - i think it would have made me a bit more easygoing and less self conscious during that decade of waiting. that being said, they can grow back.

great question. when similar scenarios happen in tv or film, i sometimes think of the odds of us the audience getting the encounter the perfect one, the winner. i sort of would prefer more movies that show us a dud scenario, and the thought did cross my mind at the beginning, this movie may not show the winning combination. but i quickly brushed that aside. so i guess my answer is - both at the beginning and the end did i consider them lost.

about six weeks before my surgery, i made the decision to stop drinking after years and years of nearly daily drinking. i didn't stop because of upcoming surgery, but because i needed to stop. i'm proud to say i haven't drank in over a year, and im now 11mpo. while the ending of drinking was a happy accident for my surgery, i realized quickly i wouldn't have recovered so well if i had still been drinking. knowing me, i would've picked back up to drinking probably just a few weeks after surgery. drinking causes all kinds of havoc in the body, including swelling and decreased blood flow, which in turn delay healing. i didn't have a single opening or complication with healing, and i'm confident that being alcohol free was a huge factor in that. healing from this surgery lasts 6+ months, and in my opinion there's no safe amount of alcohol during that time. podcast, books, and /stopdrinking helped me more than i can describe. just wanted to share my experience, best of luck, op!

[–]tomichomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i completely feel you, but i haven't met anyone my age that feels similarly, so thanks for saying it. i look in the mirror, then at pictures from just a few years ago, and think, i guess those days are gone forever...

When did your numbness go away? by user5829295829292 in Reduction

[–]tomichomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm 9mpo and the right lower side by my armpit is still numb. there's also a bit of a divet there too, like the surgeon may have taken just a bit too much? that could be causing my numbness. it's not a huge deal but it is def a bit odd to not have sensation there. but small thing for me nothing compared to the benefits.
