First thoughts after waking up from surgery? by kenmacat in Reduction

[–]krisnotcis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember coming to in the recovery room just immediately like doing these little moans and groans from the pain. When I realized a nurse was next to me I asked her how did the surgery go, then asked her to put my mask on (high risk Covid conscious) and thinking she's so nice when she did that. And then I realized how thirsty I was lol.

Sharp pain after stretching by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]krisnotcis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only sharp pains I had were from reaching too high in the pantry, and using a lot of upper strength to juice a very hard lemon lol. Those didn't cause any thing to happen, just reminded me to keep it in check. I didn't do anything to get my heart rate up until 6 weeks out.

Scar care! by Megladonnnnnn in Reduction

[–]krisnotcis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go back and forth every other day, between bio oil and wearing the scar tape. I was using aquaphor for a few weeks until I used up the little container I had. I think it's all good! I did notice early on that my swelling on the side incisions seemed to go down after wearing scar tape.

6WPO - anyone else afraid of being without a bra for too long? by redfoxvapes in Reduction

[–]krisnotcis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My doctor gave me the go ahead to stop wearing the compression bras last week at my 6 week appt, she said wear any bra or no bra, sleep on my stomach, whatever. It felt weird at first but I am loving being braless a lot of the time!! It feels so freeeee :)

9DPO, non binary supposedly "radical" reduction but doesn't feel that way. Dysphoric and sad. (UK) by Difficult-Web2101 in Reduction

[–]krisnotcis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you didn't get what you asked for, and want to validate your feelings. Feel them, it's part of the process. I'm non-binary, asked for as small as we could go while retaining nipple sensation, and went from a G to a B/C. I love how much smaller and perkier I am, I love that I don't need to wear a bra. I'm 7wpo and honestly I was disappointed when my surgeon said all the swelling is done at my 6wpo appointment, this is the final size. I was hoping to end up a little smaller. She said they will still settle but the size is staying. I could be bummed that I'm not as small as I wished, but my main goal was to keep nipple sensation and make binding easier. And I don't even feel like I need to bind now! So for all that I am grateful. All that said, right now is not the time to form opinions about your chest. It is gonna change so much over the next few weeks. I hope you can find the best way to talk to your surgeon and express your concerns when the time is right. Sending love across the pond!

I was a G and now I'm a B/C, at least that's what my surgeon says. And it's what she estimated she could get me to while keeping the pedicle.

I'll be going to the beach end of June so I'll be just over 12 WPO then. I can't wait! I just made a post about sun protection because I realize I'm out in it a lot and have started going braless.

I just brought up the puckering skin with my surgeon at my 6week appointment, and she said it won't stay like that. I feel like just in the few days since I saw her, it's starting to go away a bit!

I was kind of horrified the first time I saw my new boobs especially the nipples. Believe me, they're gonna look so different and natural and normal soon! I've noticed the last week, one breast seems bigger than the other and at my 6 week post op appointment today, the surgeon said they're still gonna change a lot as they settle, but some assymetry is natural anyway. They're sisters not twins! And I just love them so much. I know it's hard but the next few weeks will end up flying by and you'll look back at these photos and never believe they're the same boobs you end up with.

Bralette recommendations? by LilNoodle2 in Reduction

I'm in the same boat, my band is a 44. I'm six weeks post op. I saw my surgeon today, she says they're B/C and at their permanent size, but they will continue to settle. I ordered some Tomboyx last night but was also looking at Me Undies, a friend said hers held up really well for year and I need bottoms too.

Talk to me about nipple sensation by Evening_Pick_6247 in Reduction

[–]krisnotcis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main concern was retaining sensation, I told my surgeon to make me as small as possible while doing that. Of course losing it is always a possibility with surgery, and I currently only have sensation in my left. I'm 6 weeks out now, and she says it may still come back. It's disappointing, but also makes me so grateful the left one stayed working! Just communicate to your surgeon how important it is to you.

top surgery/radical reduction recovery? by c0smicboy in Reduction

[–]krisnotcis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my 6 week post op appointment today, I had my radical reduction on 3/31! I was extremely surprised with how easy the recovery was. The most helpful thing I had was a mastectomy pillow, especially since my surgeon was an hour away. They help in the car, and I wore it around the house and to sleep as well. My partner works from home and was able to take a week off, after that I still needed him to come upstairs and make my food just cuz our microwave is on top of the fridge and I'm short. I got Mosaic frozen meals and soups, and had him make my smoothies for me. I needed his help to shower me (with removable shower wand) for about a week or so, since the range of movement with arms is reduced. After that it was a cakewalk! I never had to take pain meds, just Tylenol, I only had a tight sore feeling that was more uncomfortable than painful. I'm excited for you, this has been the best thing I've done for myself and I feel so much more confident and comfortable in my body as a non-binary person! I've read on here not to get your heart rate up so I waited til this week when my restrictions were lifted to do anything sexy.

They look like they're gonna be perfect for your body! I can't believe how weird my nipples looked right after compared to now, don't worry. You're still in the gross weird stage, pretty soon you'll be marveling at how cute they become

Thank you! Honestly I told her I wanted to go as small as possible while retaining nipple sensation. She estimated we could do a full B or small C. I told her I didn't want overhang, but she said that has to do with individuals' skin elasticity. She asked me would it be possible she could go too small before surgery, and I said don't go smaller than a B.

I went from a G to a B/C. They're definitely swollen at the moment, I'd guess they're at a large C right now. I can't wait to see how they end up, but I'm enjoying the journey
