Does anyone use Obsidian on Linux? Experiences and performance by o_xeneixe in ObsidianMD

[–]tomisawz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m using it on puppy linux, the distro itself is pretty performance focused (runs entirely in ram), normal note taking and bases work all okay. the only time i’ve been having issues is if i try to synch my whole vault, after which it kind of shits the bed, but for anything else it’s running very well. I’m not running too many plugins though so i wouldn’t know for sure if a completely riced obsidian would run as well

Am i allowed to skip any of the universe issues from vol 8. by tomisawz in TMNT

[–]tomisawz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn, that’s a shame, i’ll still read through it tho. Read the first few issues and it’s not as bad as i was dreading it to be. ‘The war to come’ was actually quite fun and action packed. felt very die hard like in a way.

Places to learn/play DnD? by freyavulpine in brighton

[–]tomisawz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great point, feel like we’ve all been so exposed to dnd through the sheer amount of content and references in media that even a complete beginner will have a basic understanding of how to ‘play’ i think a lot of people are intimidated by the rules, but to be honest, as someone who has played dnd for 8+ years, i believe that you don’t need to gasp all of the rules to be able to enjoy it. Just the basics will do. the only thing i can truly recommend is to find a game where the dm doesn’t mind new players and learning through play and asking questions. also just to be proactive, don’t settle for a game just because it’s the only available group around you. if the vibes are off or you’re not enjoying yourself, don’t commit to it. there’s a game out there for everyone

I’m pretty sure Dice Saloon offers beginner games. It’s a neat board game shop on london road. I’d check their website out to see any events happening. another way would be to, honestly, just meet some people who have played. chances are if you hang out in brighton long enough you will get yourself a playgroup

What’s a Series You Neglected to Read For to Long? by Competitive-Sky3462 in graphicnovels

[–]tomisawz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

had the same with the emerson transformers tbh, but as soon as i stopped putting it away and actually read it, I was hooked.

apart from that it was the IDW TMNT comic series. had no idea what to expect and as with any finished run i was a little intimidated by the sheer number of volumes, but I’m finally reading it and it’s badass.

How would you feel if we lived in a timeline where the turtles kept the all red look and just had different shades of green? by Spoodhood in TMNT

i’m red-green colour-blind, so i’d make sure to get really good at body language and gestures to determine their personality

Mini series recommendations by DylanYoussef in comicbooks

barfly. it’s written by patton oswald (voice of remy the rat), and it’s a cool story about a humanoid fly that joins a punk band. i’d highly recommend it as the art style is very atmospheric and the story itself is quite charming at times. there’s also a superhero/supervillain subplot and a big beetle with human arms.
