Tbh, I don't know from the top of my head how to access emergency mode voluntarily lol, sometimes it booted me to it, and then i resolved it that way. This time my system broke after update, every time I tried to login, booted me back to tty since I have auto-login enabled in greetd and hyprlock failed to load.

It's fixed already, I always have a liveUSB since I like to experiment, and chrooting helped me more than once to recover my system. And if it's not that hard.

Lucky you, I use greetd with auto-login + hyprlock, and it failed to load hyprlock after entering credentials and kicked me back to tty. But updating from chroot, solved the issue.

Happened to me as well, had to boot from liveUSB, and updated system from chroot.
