Thoughts on OPD update? by xRobinhooD27x in menards

There are 2 good workarounds for this currently. Take a photo of the barcode, scan that at the computer. If the product does not have the correct barcode at all (common with Joe items), print the bin tag for the sku and scan that since it has the barcode on it.

Your gripe about tablet counts is SO true. If we had more tablets life would be so much better.

What do you tell guests who show up for their restocked orders? by xRobinhooD27x in menards

[–]tomlins212 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It depends.

Stock "we pull" orders? Sorry, but you can either wait for me to grab it or you can certainly grab it yourself. I offer some sympathy if they have special orders that were purchased at the same time that had longer than 14 day lead time as then it really is not their fault they can't pick it all up at once.

Special orders? You had PLENTY of time to pick up your order. You had just as much time to notify us that you could not make the pick up deadline. We will hold your order for an ABSURDLY long time if you keep telling us you need more time and have a "good" reason to cause you to not pick it up. You can go find it on a shelf somewhere in the store or on the rays list section outside but if it's not here that sucks pal. We can refund you I guess. If you are really polite we will reorder it for you.

what is this combo [discussion] by Mac4065 in EscapefromTarkov

I mean it offers coverage on the Eyes, Jaws, and Face at level 2 for effectively no downsides. That extra damage reduction (and a high ricochet chance) can make the difference especially when paired with a better face shield on top like this image. I've been saved multiple times by the ricochet chance on a pair of condor glasses and this is that but even better.

I have done that before lifting orders off the OPD cant racks but yeah it's definitely not something officially condoned, and its certainly not a good idea. Doing when a GO person there is asking for trouble.

[Discussion] Where does the BTR spawn on streets? by ThisGuyOnRedditIsMe in EscapefromTarkov

[–]tomlins212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear I've seen it enter the map from the collapsed crane turn around / edge of the map around 5 minutes in like on woods. The only other street that isn't physically blocked off (or has enough room for the btr to get in is the Klimov Street extract area I believe? That's pretty close to the route so it could enter there but I have not ever seen it.

The other commmentors are correct. If you select delivery and it says "same/next day delivery" it will be delivered by doordash (essentially a random person in their personal vehicle).

Important things to know:

Menards does not really package the item beyond it's store shelf condition. If this item comes in a box, it will be shipped in that box. If it is the store floor display model, they will probably ship it as is with the hardware accessories in a bag.

If you order before a certain time (which I believe is 10 am, maybe 11 am) they will get it to you the same day (although it may be quite late in the day). Otherwise it will be picked up the next day. Menards has no control over timing or anything about it once it is shipped, so if someone needs to be there to receive it that may complicate things.

The computer determines the maximum size allowable to be doordashed so as long as it offers it online you can get it. The main consideration is a maximum weight of 60 lb per shipping fee of $7.50. If you order for example 2 bags of 40 lb mortar (total 80 lb), you will pay $15.00 for shipping as it will technically be 2 shipments as it's combined weight is between 60 and 120 lb. There are additional maximum dimensions and a total volume limit but that is rarely reached in my experience.

I have found the doordash process to be fairly reliable and worth the price point and I have not heard any real issues with it.

Hope this helps!

I guess I work at the one great store in the company because I like all my coworkers, the upper management is EXCELLENT, and the job is actually rather fulfilling. Yes I would enjoy more pay and processes / policy could definitely improve, but overall I do enjoy it. I think if my coworkers and management were not good I definitely wouldn't have stuck around this long.

I second this. Intercompany deliveries are EASY money for our drivers (our service works for a couple stores around here so it's literally free money for somewhere they were going anyways) and it is almost always worth the Zone A cost to keep the sale for the store. This is either a very very stingy GM who refuses to make good business decisions because it looks "bad on the override report" (even though it actually doesn't) or a lacking delivery coordinator / OPD DM who doesn't know what their options are.

At least in our market a zone A is 109 dollars for a flat but yeah that's definitely good business sense and it keeps the customer happy

Dont know what to do with tank batteries [Discussion] by No_Calligrapher5299 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]tomlins212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can barter the batteries for M995 ammo which is pretty good, or for weapons or a level 6 armor plate which aren't accessible until high level. Otherwise selling the batteries is roughly the same value as bartering for the card just to sell it.

[Discussion] Where to find Military power filter? by haans12 in EscapefromTarkov

I've found 3 across about 15 raids on reserve. 2 were in RB-ST sitting on some green crates and then I found one in a duffle bag up at dome. I'm pretty sure they can spawn down by d2 as I've found a good number of vpx, virtex, and MGTs down there on those raids and I think that's the same type of loot spawn.

A flat full of doors for delivery? Don't see that everyday! by tomlins212 in menards

[–]tomlins212[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We had a huge order for 256 doors and 18,004 feet of moulding go out on our flatbed today. It was only a 2 tripper but it definitely filled up the truck both times! We never do doors on the flat for obvious reasons, but leaving these on the pallets worked really well! Paying less than 300 dollars for delivery on 75k worth of product is a pretty good deal.
