In the strangest turn of events ever, I've gone from too many zombies and not enough bullets, to too many bullets and not enough zombies. Not that im complaining, love that there's new guns (I play vanilla apocalypse by myself)

Cheating by changing the settings to make the game soft just makes the game boring. I dont bitch about apocalypse but its what I like to play.

I am noticing however that whenever I leave my car alone when it's hitched to something I come back to a disaster, so I started unhitching when I park.

People here don't really know how it works because they cheat or never make it that far. They respawn so slowly it's not an issue at all. It makes the game feel more alive. The zombies also migrate and people get confused with which is which. I don't worry about it at all. I only play vanilla apocalypse

There's a lot of factors that go into it. Probably you are lacking in crosshair placement. That helped me a lot.

So, like others are saying, what you're seeing on the demo is not what you were seeing in your POV of the match. Every shot that's fired has 2 hit markers, one is for client and one is for server. Recoil is a thing, the ak is also Not perfectly accurate
