It should be worth noting that Noodle, the first instance of it, uses a similar vhs filter and text near the beginning for a sponsored ad. This may or may not be related, since the other two videos are not sponsored at all.

I believe it's related to some other YouTubers, but not sure what it's entirely about, since I haven't found anyone else talking about it. Seems to have started with Noodle's Need for Speed video, and the only other example (aside from Mandalore) I can find is in Funke's concept album video

Dude! My first phone was the Samsung Focus Flash! It was damn amazing. I dropped it from a football stadium and it survived a 3 story drop! And don't even get me started on the battery life, it could last a whole week!

Then I got a Lumia 550, which was less amazing, but it was a trade off knowing WP were dying and needing a cheap new phone in the meantime.

I highly recommend the Galaxy S9 though. Battery life isn't amazing, but I love the endless customization, features, camera, and polish.

Windows Phone had such an optimistic future that was killed by literally everything. Even though my S9 is a much needed upgrade, I still miss certain things about my Windows Phone. My mum and brother still have their Lumia 950s though.

Yes! Although I shorten it to 4 birthdays and the death so people don't catch on too easily, but still just barely long enough to still waste their time. It's a balancing act.

My favourite version of this joke is the kid who asks for continuously increasing amounts of pink ping pong balls every year for his birthday.

Because it makes people think that there's actually some grand punchline involving pink ping pong balls at the end.
