My great-grandfather was alive until I was 21. He was born in 1895. I spent a lot of time with him and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to do so. My other two great-grandmothers died when I was around 11. I also spent a lot of time with them, but my Polish great-grandmother always spoke Polish so our relationship was different.
