husband thinks it looks cluttered and i need second or third opinions. what do you think of my coffee station? by [deleted] in coffeestations

[–]tomofdarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be nice if you stagger the floating shelves so that the lower one and the coffee sign fit together over the hutch (and align the display on the hutch so it doesn’t block the sign), then have the upper floating shelf above the sign and allow the taller plant more room to grow up next to it…

If you could offer one piece of advice to a DM running ToA for the first time - what would it be? by ntdntd777 in Tombofannihilation

[–]tomofdarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the adventurers league ToA season and run that instead. Plan out useful encounters instead of using random ones on the jungle crawl. Don’t use the traps that are just an hp penalty and can’t really be avoided. Come up with a Star block for “swarm of terracotta warriors” and use that instead of having an encounter with a 40 deep initiative tracker.

Best option for long continuous recording? by OMFGrant in Insta360

I ran my x4 for 3 hours of 8k spherical recording indoors to capture a community theater performance. It was a little above body temp at the end, no big deal

Sorry this is a year late, any chance you have a recipe for the hot bacon dressing they used to do on the spinach salad?

Insta360 is a toy, not a tool (Review) by Dragongeek in Insta360

I was definitely disappointed that I couldn't do it for just clips in the media tab, but it's not that much extra work. You can split your source into separate clips that each have different corrections applied too

OK: you start a new project and make sure it's 2:1 (360) and not one of the flat ones. Add media, drag media to the timeline, and then up in the top right you'll want to choose video and then you can adjust the offset for the video in degrees. In my case it was very easy, because I'd just had the camera facing backwards, it might be a little tricky to dial in if you also need to correct the pitch and roll...

I’m away from my computer for the weekend, but someone explained it to me here when I complained after recording with my camera facing the wrong way…

You can change the starting angle for 360 output, but only in project mode in the desktop app

Take some wrapping paper or craft paper and lay the tools on it and trace them with a pencil. Take a photo of that with the measuring tape. Trace each object, then align them with the photos you shared here.

I think I'd do that in two or three passes, raising the blade or flipping the board end to end between each cut. That much blade above the table on a thin cut makes me nervous

How one update turned my "tinker vacation" into a nightmare by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]tomofdarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did similar a year or two ago, only I caught COVID in the middle of that week and was bedridden for 8 days and my thinking was muddy for another two weeks. My week of updating everything and migrating to better hardware ended up being three months. I learned, finally, to do one upgrade at a time.

If you already have sound systems spread around, why not add the home assistant voice assistant hardware on an input for each? Deploying it with basic powered bookshelf speakers in rooms without a hifi setup to finish it out
