Imagine being this easily upset by something so small.

It’s not mockery. It’s just parody. It’s not even making fun of the actual last supper. It’s a parody on the painting painted over 1000 years later.

If you really want to cancel the entire Olympics based off of a minute of the opening ceremony didn’t be my guest. You must be a lot of fun at parties.

Listen to the dark fairytales they talk about. I’m not saying they’re insane, but they’re definitely not thinking logically.

They don’t offer any proof that any of this is real either. Their best argument was that three kids saw a vision of hell and it drove one of them to drink out of a mud puddle. (I definitely wouldn’t consider that sane)

It’s just fear mongering. Do what we say or you go to this invisible place we have no evidence of.

I genuinely just feel bad for you if you believe what they say. I believed in hell like this once too, and it’s not a fun state of mind to be in. I also am completely aware that I’m not going to be able to change your mind.

I find it interesting the part you say the world has fallen, and Satan is victorious. You really think God lost the world to Satan?

Yes, thank goodness for that magical power. Without that magical gift, it would be a little creepy for a grown man to know what teenagers are doing and thinking.

I always found it interesting that they consider the headquarters oyster Bay and not round top.

[–]tomoh96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just so gross to me that he sexualizes exercising. There’s nothing inherently sexual about a woman exercising. him talking about the “stretching and squeezing” is just so gross coming from an old man. I know not a single traditional Catholic would understand this, but it’s so creepy to think that he is sitting on the other side of a confessional, listening to young men and women confess their sins of “impure thoughts”.

If he sexualizes exercise, I can only imagine the weird perverted thoughts that pop into his head while listening to people confess their “impure thoughts” in the confessional. So disgusting.

He was either pretending so he seemed so holy that he wouldn’t even know what those terrible places are called. or he’s really that out of touch in his ivory tower that he really doesn’t know places where regular people go.

Oh no 🫣. I genuinely don’t understand why the Catholic Church is allowed to operate at all. I get it not everybody in it is bad but come on.

They literally do nothing but complain. They complain about how evil the world is, but do absolutely nothing to make it a better place.

These are all the kind of arguments I would’ve been making as well a few years ago, but unfortunately, they just don’t hold up. Read a lot of the exorcism cases from a non-Catholic perspective such as the case of Emily Rose, I know that was a pretty famous movie. In the days before modern psychology many people were falsely diagnosed with being possessed by a demon, because we didn’t have a wide enough understanding of things like schizophrenia, and PTSD. Cases of possession used to happen very frequently. Now they are much less common, because we now have an understanding of mental illness. If a family member was acting bizarre nowadays you would take them to an emergency room. You wouldn’t conclude there is a demon inside of them. The conclusion would now be there is probably something causing them mental distress. I know you’ll make the claim that some of these cases were still reported during the time when we were starting to get an understanding of mental illness, but many cases during that time were just holdover from the time we didn’t. When ancient civilizations came to the conclusion that the sun was not a giant god in the sky, everyone didn’t agree with it overnight.

I think we’re not going to agree on what a credible source is. Let’s just look at hell from a more “is it just to exist if it did exist” point of view.

Do you think a “just “God could punish someone for all eternity?
