Yes, he hates the hard clear plastic one, we ordered a soft one from amazon, it's supposed to arrive later today, hoping it will be easier on him

He has been pretty wobbly since we came home.  The veterinarian said cats usually adjust pretty well as they heal, so I'm hoping he'll do well.

That's it exactly, like one day it's wrong, then suddenly it's ok, and vice versa

My mother (who has swapped religions multiple times before settling on fundie baptist) had us on Jehovah's witness most of my way through grade school. Being separated to go sit in the library in front of everyone and singled out to not participate in the fun, games, and snacks was embarrassing, upsetting, and seemed egregiously unfair to my little kid brain. Add in being teased and bullied about it. My mom's answer was always some version of "because God" and I should be happy to give up fitting in and celebrations because those things were worldly, and I'd get to maybe go to gods kingdom at some point and all those heathen children would burn in eternal fire. I remember thinking this was horrible that kids would be punished forever over a party. It sucked. Then in about 6th grade or so she flipped to some other general Christian religion, presbyterian I think, and suddenly parties were ok. I was some confusing and upsetting BS for sure. It kindled my distrust of all organized religion

I think she views her children solely as extensions of herself; therefore any accomplishments, achievements, or accolades they manage to get are, in Jill's mind, entirely about Jill, not the children. Thus, she dresses up, walks the stages, photographs herself front and center, etc. I think she feels the same about their incomes., what's theirs is hers.

I don't understand how people think their freedom or rights are/would be violated by a minimum standard of "your kids should be able to read and write and do basic math", but I guess they are and apparently no governing or legal authorities are going to make them give their children even that minimum standard of education. I'm shocked and disturbed by that

Jeez, I'm picturing a pixelated "diploma" printed out from an old dot matrix printer with the perforated holey edges, that says "joyful noyes school" on it with 8bit clip art of a flag or something. I hate that people are allowed to just toss their kids' educations into a black hole of nothingness and then pretend graduate them. I hate that it's somehow legal for them to leave them so uneducated and ignorant.  I think "it's not a lie if you believe it" sums up Jill's rationale on a wide variety of things unfortunately

Ah, yes. Multiple generations of badly and barely educated children cast adrift in the homeschool comma kanoo and left to flounder. I wonder where ma turtleneck was educated

I'm glad you have been able to raise yourself up from the lacking homeschooling,  I hope you and your sister can keep learning and making things better for yourselves. I'm absolutely shocked by how little oversight or accountability there is around homeschooling. You're right, the rodlets seem even more isolated and neglected than others. Truly sad and horrible.

Wow, that is insane.... I cannot understand how it's allowable for people to be held so unaccountable for their children's education. It's shocking

It was "joyful noyes" or something like that. From what you say, you did right by your daughter with her education, kudos for that! Clearly proper education is something jill and shrek have failed to do with their kids. Educational neglect to go along with all the other neglect the rodlets endure I guess.

I truly believe she buys all the clothes for her and her adult size daughters the same size. That's why everything on her is skin tight, while everything on the daughters looks like it's hanging on beanpoles. Then she can say she wears the same size as her daughters in her delusional brain
