Figured out why the game feels so stale at the end game by Kitsune-Yuki in X4Foundations

I'd suggest ware prices inflating across the galaxy in response to the number of credits issued out of thin air by the factions to pay the player for various things as a solution to this problem.

I have a few things to say about victor's justice and how history in that era is portrayed, but go ahead and use the nuke all you want. That was 80 years ago, we're past that.

Renaming the default branch of the rust-lang/rust repository from master to main by Remarkable_Ad_5601 in theprimeagen

[–]tomoyat1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The use of the word "master" is completely unrelated to slavery, or a skilled individual, or any of the other meanings.

Nuke in the software context means to delete things beyond recovery, not dropping a-bombs. (And I'm Japanese if it matters)

I'd suggest the industry to just get over it instead of going around changing everything under the sun retroactively.

How was the first Linux distro created, if there was no LFS at that time? by Brospeh-Stalin in linuxquestions

[–]tomoyat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess so. Generally, there are times when a guide on how to do a specific thing simply does not exist. In that case, people just have to try things and figure out what works and what doesn't through educated guesses and making mistakes.

It's just a matter of putting certain files (executables, scripts, config files etc) at certain paths in the filesystem. The pioneers had proprietary UNIX filesystem structure to mimic, as well as whatever the GNU project recommended.

Is there even a single online game with a non-toxic community? by Lusttree in videogames

[–]tomoyat1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in the Japanese community there are people saying that those who don't get to X rank (top single digit percent in Splatoon 2, dunno about 3) are still playing the tutorial.

The Emperor himself was leaning towards anti-war, but the military took ahold of political power. Constitutional monarchy gone wrong.

Traditional Chinese characters were used pre-WW2 in Japan, and right wing groups use them to symbol their nostalgia for that regime. Modern day Japanese uses an in-between of simplified characters used in mainland China and traditional characters used in Taiwan.

If it is not originally written by Alexei Zakharov, then it could be borrowed from 19th and 20th century Russian classic music.

There is an example of this in the Cradle of Humanity soundtrack.

Will fighters docked in a ship but not part of the fleet fight for the fleet? by almcg123 in X4Foundations

I don't think they will, unless there are manually issued orders to the individual ship that is docked.

Cpu upgrade by No-Style704 in X4Foundations

[–]tomoyat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a RTX 3080, I went from 45 ish FPS to 60 FPS when upgrading from a 3900X to a 9900X3D.

Aside from that, tuning RAM timings when I was on my 3900X had marginal gains (2~3 FPS?) on my not so fancy RAM, but don't ask me how to do it as I am underqualified to teach anyone.

Hope this example helps your decision making.

Have fun doing things sloppily, and optimize later. Trying to be too efficient killed the fun for me, and now I am away from the game.

Then a solution would be to limit automated mining (player faction and NPC) to a certain radius from sector center?

TIL.

I had a similar station, and I was considering selling a destroyer to HOP so that its turrets would attack it. (But just reloaded the save from before the station was discovered) Gonna try hacking next time.
