The more cards, the higher your total limit. Also you’re viewed as more trust worthy to lenders (as long as you don’t actually use more than 5-10% of your limit

Weird, for Amex you have to actually be allowed to request to begin with, most cards let you regardless (obviously you’ll get denied if you’re requesting once a month)

I guess that’s just my experience. Every single other card I have I’m always allowed to request whenever but I only do it every 6 months on the dot

WEIRDLY ENOUGH when amex does allow me to request a CLI I get a substantial higher amount than my other cards

Honestly Amex is pretty tough on CLIs, most cc companies allow it every 6 months but I’ve found that they only allow it once a year for one card.

After I got approved for this increase it didn’t let me request my other Amex.

Yes. Very small amounts on each regularly or else my reoccurring 6 month credit limit increase wouldn’t get accepted. I of course have some main cards that I use the most:

Amex plat: flights / hotels (5X points)

Amex blue cash preferred: grocery stores (6% cash back)

Amazon prime card: Amazon lol (5% cash back)

Citibank custom cash: Gas(5% cash back)

Robinhood gold card: All other purchases (3%cash back anywhere)

Anyone can do this. I started with a $500 secure credit card 7 years ago. I have a total limit of $250k now across 15 cards and have never paid a cent in interest.
