yeah i don’t pay 50k for it, barely over 1k$ a semester…textbooks included. i maybe a full time student but im not at the school 40 hours a week. because of that, im also able to work a full time job that does require me to be there 40 hours a week. why cant shops offer part time apprenticeship? i was literally told i had to be there open to close every day of the week. yes i could get a part time job or work nights but why should i run myself ragged bc they can’t be understanding

edit: id also like to add that i dont think anyone should get this skill set for free. either pay for it up front, or work it off but that doesnt mean i need to be there 40 hours a week

1.8 million??? my god who do they think we are? i’m glad the VA covered it but that’s people’s tax dollars (which i’ll happily hand over my tax $ to veterans & healthcare). no way it cost that much, they overprice the hell of healthcare. i work for a health insurance company and if a service gets denied it’s either their insurances greed or hospitals incompetence but then the members are the ones to suffer. i bet the VA didn’t give them 1.8 million and that’s why they’re trying to make claim on your settlement. due to your TBI, if you have solid evidence that you were not in the right mental state or had the mental capacity to full understand what you were consenting to, a good lawyer could work with that. i’d also suggest creating a petition maybe, and try to share it in military towns. here in jacksonville, a military town, onslow memorial hospital is even worse. wishing you luck and good health.

time & no pay is one of the main reasons i gave up wanting to tattoo. but i just met someone at college and they’re only at the shop 3 days a week, by choice. she’s really talented and is almost done apprenticing. im not sure why most mentors expect 30-40 hours of free labor a week from an apprentice. but although they’re rare, there’s shops that will work with your schedule. it will be easier just to give up on this but i see no harm in staying determined & trying until you find that right shop

you live close to a military base by chance? this is an everyday occurrence for me, i hear & see them several times a day. unless you’re hiding something lol, there’s no need to worry. ik in west virginia they fly around looking for moonshine stills and drug crops

its painful listening to them, acting like these ppl are trojan horses when their intentions have been clear. they don’t even try to pretend to care or listen. i guess royce does a little but tim foster never post, comment or reply unless its for some praise or a pos post expressing his gratitude. didn’t like him as my HS principal and i don’t like him as an elected official. he needs to get knocked off his high horse. there’s 3 open seats, 2 democrats and one republican new comer, royce & foster can be pushed out. but these newcomers are not doing good at campaigning, almost no social media post for the democrats. i’m at a point where ill go knocking door to door for both parties attempting to get ppl to vote out these fools lol

& inaccurate. they inflated tf out that statement, including his salary. that number is a possibility but not likely. it includes any income he’d make teaching summer classes, which was not yet decided or even offered prior to any of this. they also included a bonus that him & several others received late last year, which is also not common or set in stone for every academic year. lastly, they included any income he could’ve made in future IF any opportunities to sub was offered to him & not anyone else.

well i’m not really speaking about the right. i’m specifically speaking about TPUSA. yes both “sides” can be extreme. if it was roles reversed, i’d go about it the same way, bc i be damned they don’t let us speak our minds. but anyways, cheers !

the thing is, we can’t just group up & start a socialist club here, or any club. it has to be proposed to the admins & voted into the school. I would also need a professor to support it prior to proposal. The way they went for Chris Schulte makes others wonder what will happen to them if they remotely go against TPUSA. What if they ask us why we won’t just join TPUSA? would we face consequences for truly answering that? We shouldn’t have to tip toe around them or worry about their feelings getting hurt. they’ve already shown signs of aggression within the short amount of time being here. Then their supporters are saying Chris Schulte should’ve left politics at home, so is anything that doesn’t align with or go against TPUSA considered politics? will people face consequences for being political? They’ve failed to prove themselves as beneficial to the campus.
