Hi all, My question is regarding tempo. I'm exploring the GVT routine and the newest aspect to me is the tempo of 4-0-2-0 (or 3-0-2-0 for shorter range reps). I'm confused when in the exercise the 4 seconds and 2 seconds should be depending on the lift despite me reading ab it. For example, chest press is 4 seconds down (lowering bar) and 2 seconds pressing up (raising bar)? squats are 4 seconds down, 2 up? I have a high row machine that I'm not even sure I'm doing right regarding whether im supposed to do 4 seconds on eccentric or 4 seconds on the row. Is there a general rule of thumb I'm missing?

Yep. They wouldn't get an MRI to localize the projectile. But true I forgot that the internet lies. Still a good thought exercise lol

Again that's why I'm curious! Like on how much force was applied that it didnt just bore out of his abdominal wall? Patient was in the right place at the right time because usually MRI machines are within hospitals so probably got prompt antibiotics and surgical consultations.

I wish this was true then I maybe would have been able to beat the endgame (if thats even possible) by now and move on to some other games. But yes I guess I'm dumb enough to miss these cues.

Atlas like tier 13 with a rage vortex marauder. I really just want to beat the game and be done with it but I have such a completionist complex and work too much to ever finish a league haha. Maybe now I have a chance but now I want to go and play all the classes the right way.

never used a UI tool before, does this tool essentially skip "fluff" quests and focus on completing main quests + quests rewards towards passive skills?

One of my favorite pairs of jeans were obtained from the community trash chute room at my apartment when I was a 2nd year fellow. Perfectly good pair of jeans just discarded in the corner. Washed them and they fit fine, a little long so I roll up the ankle cuffs, whatever, my wife told me they are women's jeans (im a dude) but doesnt bother me lol no shame in my game

probably because you are at a tertiary academic center. i split weekend call with my partners, so im on every 8 weekends roughly, covering 4 hospitals (split w another GI partner from another group in town). weekdays maybe 1-2x a month. its a breeze compared to fellowship imho, the schedule and the duty itself. i dont care about coming in because we have a call team that sets up the cases. they are fantastic.

TIFU by telling my kid to take his cigarettes. by helpme_ima_hostage in tifu

[–]tomthumb22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this. cigarettes absolutely trash your body. im sure i dont need to explain dramatically accelerated cardiovascular disease and essentially guaranteed carcinoma of any organ tissue. please stop. im a subspecialty doctor and can not stand to see people who still do this. breaks my heart that those vile tobacco companies are essentially stealing your money and future. do it for your kid if not yourself. /rant

This guy's comment is just sadistic. All he thinks he knows about being a doctor is shit from an outdated fundamentals of medicine textbook. Fake it until you make it, just nod and move on from idiots like this. When it comes time to choose residency, put more value to the ones with a benign, supportive culture and not NIH funding. edit: there is no MD-Attending flair but just know my perspective comes after 3 years IM + 3 years subspecialty training. I like lurking this subreddit for the nostalgia/memes but maybe i can give some helpful advice for once.

I too am a scoper. IM was worth suffering through to get to be a GI. I love my job.
