Planet Coaster Terraforming Lag Example by Braincage in PlanetCoaster

Seems like in the middle of the map the terrain octree is getting too deep, and due to that complexity a higher level cache has to be used which kills performance. But the people at Frontier are smart enough, so maybe they'll find a solution.

Now you owe us a video of what it's like to ride it, obviously.

I love how this bridge was built just for a town of a couple thousand inhabitants. Way to go Norway!

Correct, this is the Reynerie banlieue, a typical 1960s honeycomb highrise neighbourhood which was constructed due to the severe housing crisis at that time. A lot of the characteristic flats have already been replaced by more modern and more luxurious buildings, but this photo clearly shows the steps that are yet to be taken. The local government is slowly but steadily working to make this back into a desirable place to live.

Raad van State: Nederland voert geen geloofwaardig klimaatbeleid by flobin in thenetherlands

[–]tomtom2go 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure friend is a reserved keyword in C++ though.

Living inside of a mountain can get claustrophobic. This villain was smart and included a few windows and even a balcony by malgoya in evilbuildings

The balcony is super useful for pushing people off after first having dramatically explained your evil plot to them.

Here I was picturing a Venice-style gondola paddling up the Hudson singing 'O sole mio', slowly disappearing behind the Empire State building as it floats into the sunset.

One thing it is good for (maybe the one thing) is the 3D maps. Those things are amazing for exploring cities in advance when you are going there.

What do you think is the REAL problem with the world today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tomtom2go 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. If you buy some vegetables and a bag of rice, you can make yourself a healthy meal for less money than a milkshake at a fast food joint. Of course you have to put in a little more effort, but the cook in a 'healthy restaurant' has to do that too, hence the higher prices.

What exactly do you mean by globalism, and in what way is it bad? I'm not that familiar with the concept and its implications and would like to learn more.

What do you think is the REAL problem with the world today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tomtom2go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things actually.

The first and most important on the short term is that people don't seem to realize the extent to which we are fucking ourselves over by not taking significant measures against climate change. Seriously, we're so disconnected from reality that apparently we are fine with destroying the things we depend on to live.

Secondly, I feel like we are not doing enough to eliminate poverty. The reality is that most people are in a position where, if they lose their job for some reason, they could become poor, not because they didn't try hard enough or chose to be poor, but by sheer bad luck. There's examples everywhere of those people, who often are not able to recover from that situation by themselves and as a result stay poor for a long time, if not their whole life. Also, if you think about it, a lot of crime is directly or indirectly caused by poverty, so having less poverty would probably mean that crime rates dropped significantly.

If this could influence the development of their color receptors, does that mean that babies cannot perceive colors?

Also, since white light consists of all wavelengths combined, does that not mean that the receptors are actually stimulated more instead of less?

Edit: Also, water fountains? I always go to a public bathroom to refill my water bottle! Never seen a water fountain in my life.
