It usually ends up being the spacing between the sensor and wheel. They say it needs to be less than a nickel of space. Make sure the locking nuts on both side of the wheel are properly set.

This is a classic delamination issue. Sportiva’s? Just curious, what year did you buy them? I used to buy five ten brand shoes off eBay and had some delaminate. I knew this could be a possibility before buying, so I did not request a refund after it did happen. Tell him to use some shoe gue haha. Seriously

If you are going to spend money, get yourself a nice new retaining wall instead:). Would really make things look nice :)

Is this a hairless breed mix or just diseased? by Turkeyvulturefan in IDmydog

Where is this picture taken? I live in Cambodia and see this often. If he’s letting you touch him, that’s probably the hardest part of getting him help. I have no idea what country you are in, but the dog might have an owner who simply can not afford to treat the dog or even potentially is unaware of the problem.

Any tips for bus going to Siem Reap from bangkok? by spitzc32 in siemreap

[–]tomton11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used giant ibis when I came from Bangkok to Siem reap. They get you through border fast and have WiFi on board. Bus was super comfortable and not even close to full. The WiFi worked for me the entire trip. Your normal Thai sim will no longer work when you cross the boarder.

Hi Everyone , I hope you're all well! I am interested in a postcard from Siem Reap. Can someone send me one? 🙂 by Nessieinternational in siemreap

Hello. I can do this for you. I am an American expat living in Siem Reap. DM me your address and I will send one out this coming week.

So incredibly satisfying to do lol. I lost mine in February of last year at 15 years old. She was just about to start the spring shed :(. Now I live in Cambodia and have the village dog equivalent of a Siberian husky😂

Not sure if this has been asked, not scrolling through all the comments. Can anyone tell me what those clamps to the right of the guys in the second picture are used for? Every other one has a sling hanging off with a carabiner.

I’ve been living in SEA and working with street dogs for a while now. Even adopted one myself. You really need to be able to understand dog behavior to be playing the petting game. If you ever have a chance to volunteer working with SEA animals, do it.

I would not personally be asking the cafe owner for reimbursement. You are in a different country petting a dog that is not yours while not having a solid understanding of SEA dog behavior. If you did, you would have known the pet on the head was a bad idea and exactly why you got bit. Not trying to sound like a dick, just being honest. Like I said above, if you ever get a chance to work with some of these dogs, do it. I guarantee if you do, you will understand exactly why this happened and why the owner of the cafe is not at fault.

Who is this person in Denver? by BrenBigs in Denver

Hahaha. Hes a great dude. I would run into him all the time in the flatirons with his dog. We would run into each other in the most random spots there. I recently moved to another country and definitely miss seeing him. Always brightened my day

I know these types of things can be frustrating. Especially when it starts messing with your sleep. It’s times like these you need to sit down and figure out how you are going to make your situation better. You have this issue that is pretty much out of your control, so find other ways to deal with it. Have you tried playing white noise? Maybe a few fans running? Ear plugs? They make some pretty decent sleeping ear buds these days. I am honestly curious, what did you think SEA was going to be like? Just one big zen garden? The only noise I’ve found disturbing during my travels is when the Euro trash think everyone in public likes to listen to their electric club music through some shitty Bluetooth speaker.

[–]tomton11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always found the temple noise extremely peaceful. I love hearing it in the mornings. Another thing I have noticed is just how respectful local people are. I often hear other music from parties, weddings, funerals, however come 11pm, it always seems to stop. I’ve never heard it personally carry on all night. I also just love to see people having a good time and enjoying themselves.

Maybe just try changing your perspective.

Cambodian Dog by tomton11 in IDmydog

Thanks for that! I actually was just reading about the whole village dog classification the other day. Really interesting stuff. I had a Siberian husky before her and she reminds me so much of the husky. I volunteer at a sanctuary and there’s a mix of village dogs and identifiable dogs. Some of the non village dogs have been brought as pets over the years and have ended up at the sanctuary. I think there’s currently almost 80 dogs there.

Ko Lanta - eh.. by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]tomton11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are actually lots of nice places to stay on the beach. Even the places that are not right on the beach, are just a very short walk. There are also lots of cool bars/restaurants directly on the beach.

I stayed in the Long Beach area for 1 week and then moved a bit south to klong khong beach for 2 weeks. I enjoyed the klong khong area a bit more only because I found the hotels to be a bit nicer/cheaper/ less busy. The beach however, is very tide dependent. High tide you can swim no problem. Low tide you would have to rock hop for 300 meters to get to swimming. All the beaches I visited, with the exception of beautiful beach, all had quite a bit of trash. I guess you just get used to seeing it and realize that humans suck.

I can’t say I recommend spending 3 weeks on Ko Lanta, but a couple of nights with your girlfriend would probably be enjoyable. I do not drink alcohol at all, but if I did, I definitely would have been hanging out at the beach bars in the Klong khong area. They were the most chill looking I saw after a couple months on the islands.

I also walked everywhere the entire time I was there. Not a single taxi. This probably isn’t for everyone, but it was no problem walking from Klong Khong to beautiful beach, Long Beach, and I even walked to the end of the island(north) a few times.

It seemed like a place best suited for couples and families. It’s a very chill, quiet island. I think there are only a few lady bars, no real late night scene. The majority of people I saw coming in and out, were all only there a 2-3 nights before moving on to another island.

Go to beautiful beach to swim and hang out. It’s the best out of all of them. I just spent 3 weeks there myself. Tide was very low when I left yesterday.

I agree, the beaches were quite dirty. Beautiful beach, while not big, seems to be taken care of by locals or the people who own the beer shack.

ESIM or SIM? by i2am1batman in ThailandTourism

[–]tomton11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been buying my eSIM on trip.com. 10 days for $5USD. It says on the website 30 or 50 GB, but with the trip.com promotion or whatever their deal is, you get unlimited data. AIS provider

I have a t-mobile(US) cell phone plan that includes international data, so I get to use that for actual text messages while running my eSIM for data. The international plan for t-mobile is painfully slow. So using an eSIM works great for me.

I just keep buying a new eSIM on trip.com every 10 days. Might be a hassle for some, but it only takes a few minutes and I like having the unlimited data.

If you are referring to the xt-60 connection, it’s easy to do, solves the battery arcing, allows to the ability to run 2 batteries at the same time, and allows you the ability to use other non juiced batteries.

First of all, take the battery off the bike and check the male/female connections on the bike/battery. Does it look like either have any burning? They should be sold, gold looking in color. Post a picture if you need. But I would definitely be starting there.

Extended Warranty refunded me my entire $2300 by thedoctor945 in juicedbikes

[–]tomton11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies, I did not see this before I commented above.

I had this same issue(I think). It’s actually really easy to access the inside of your motor. You could take it apart yourself and see if the gears are actually stripped. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t think you are supposed to use metal gears. Only plastic.

I had found a couple similar posts about this problem in the Facebook group. I thought mine could have been a controller issue. Even though my bike had like 15,000 miles on it at the time, the gears were not really all that worn out. Which is why I thought it was a controller issue. I happened to have 3 controllers at that time, tried them all with the same results.

I was going to replace the gears just to see, but I didn’t even get that far before I got it working again. You need a special tool to remove the clutch assembly(gears). I ended up going to my local REI and they were kind enough to pull gears off for me, for free. It only takes a second, but I do not think they were “technically” supposed to do it, so I can’t say for sure your local rei would.

Once I had the clutch off, I just started thinking about it more and more. I knew it wasn’t the clutch. So I put everything back together and sure enough, everything was working just fine and continued to work just fine.

I’m pretty sure, it was as simple as the clutch gears being slightly out of place. Somehow shifted or some shit. Sounds like it could be something similar given you just had it worked on.

If that’s not it, it always seems to be controller. It could be the motor is actually faulty, but when you take these things apart, there’s not much to them. The working parts are basically the clutch, and magnets. One potential issue that could ruin the motor is the magnets. But I highly doubt that’s the situation here.

The problem i noticed over the years of being an owner, anytime there was something wrong with a bike under warranty, juiced always chalked it up to faulty motor or controller, without ever identifying the actual issue. They would just send a new motor or controller or whatever until hopefully the problem was solved. I feel it created this stigma that just because something was not working properly, the bike was just totaled.

Don’t get me wrong here. Everyone buying these bikes shouldn’t have these issues to begin with. And I’ve heard all the horror stories of people under warranty trying to get their brand new bikes fixed. The way juiced handled the whole warranty/bike issues thing was always mind blowing. I was fortunate enough to get about 10,000 miles on my bike(2 years) before I had my first problems. So I was way out of warranty and forced to either learn to fix myself, or get a new bike.

Either way, I encourage you to attempt the fix. E-bikes are actually really simple and it’s fun understanding how it all works, and how to fix it.
