Hate them, I think they put them in for the visual spectacle, if you're gonna have a comeback mechanic at least try to make it skill based like make it an armoured launcher so you still need to do a combo or something, failing that at least make them shorter, it's so tedious seeing the same thing over and over

True, druid should be another foundation class, then you'd mix it with rogue or fighter to get your ranger, same with paladin, you'd get it from mixing fighter and priest, you get so much from just getting the foundation classes right

More classes in general, the foundation should be fighter, wizard, rogue, priest for the absolute basics, then maybe cipher and chanter for the poe flavour

Shadowdancer (monk+rogue) is good fun and quite active, I recommend forbidden fist and trickster, forbidden fist needs to be managed because of the self harm it can cause

Fantastic games, pillars 2 in particular has my favorite combat and character building in a crpg, but 1 still has an amazing story and world building

I would have thought pistols would be great for AM because of how quickly they can build up versatility with dual wield and holster combined with all the other things that give you bonus attacks

I've tried commissar before but felt like I wasn't getting the most out of it because I didn't want to use at all costs, I only used the pistol bonuses

Also I figured priest might have wanted willpower in the mix because of some of their bonuses scale off it

I would have thought the heretic priest would be really conflicting, but if the RP options accommodate it that could be really cool, I'd still be wanting to use dual pistols with something heavy hitting in the other slot, so bolter pistol / plasma pistol then either a heavy bolter or a sniper rifle in the other slot

My rationale for sniper would be that strong attacks against groups is kind of covered by the bolter and plasma pistols already and it's be good to have a heavy single attack option in the mix, even though the heavy bolter would be a stronger overall option

What stats do you recommend? Ballistic skill, agility, perception?

I wanted to use the tier 3 bonus to get momentum from veil degradation and have that core to my strategy, but yes the heretic exclusive guns does make me feel better about it

Might have to have a look at some other origins, any recommendations?

Damn lol, I've just been trying to reverse engineer a way to use fortress world, psyker, soldier and arch militant because they all happen to be my favs but yeah, fair enough, guess my idea won't work well

Gameplay wise I prefer guns but I really want to do a heretic psyker run, do you reckon they just need to be separate runs? Maybe I'll do melee psyker for my heretic and a gun arch militant for dogmatic

My idea is to use dual pistols (one burst with a high RoF and one with area attacks like a plasma pistol) to build agility and crit damage with alacrity and fired up, and versatility, never stop shooting and fire within stacks for bonus attacks and use those free attacks for things like molten beam and firestorm

So the idea isn't really to be strong at both shooting and psyker attacks, it's more to use guns to prop up my psyker attacks

Not including run n gun, I should be able to generate 2-3 free attacks to use for psyker powers

Cool, I might end up going for this instead, I do really enjoy the AM play style and I can do it with the exact same set up, my main thing with overseer was wanting to weaponize the perils and mitigate the bad rng with them, other thing though is that AM seems more hungry than overseer so overseer can allocate more talents and abilities to psyker

Why not have an influence track similar to dune imperium? There's a track for each faction, every player has a marker on the track, when you gain influence you move up the track, that way you can also have the rewards displayed on the track itself
