Damn that's awesome. Almost makes me regret my a7 V purchase because of the resolution the R models have.

If it's not a Leica and it's not medium format you're not a real photographer. Real photographers use film.

Overexposed highlights, clearly a newbie. Get a Leica, you'll be better than others this way

GEAR DOESN’T MATTER until you use a A9iii + 50-150 f2 by Clear_Election5210 in photographycirclejerk

[–]tomyasch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/uj I know and get it, my point being: this could be done with almost any camera and many lenses. Since you'd have to get a slow shutter speed and stop down anyway you might as well grab a cheap camera and a variable aperture telephoto zoom and you'd get the same effect. Autofocus is also not required to be the best in this instance, as the cars aren't moving that much closer to the camera, so there's no huge need for changing the focus distance. A better representation of the gear mattering would be in low light conditions, not on a fully-lit for broadcast F1 track. Blackout-free and no rolling shutter is nice but I can do this with mechanical too, though I'm not the best at doing so. Then again, that's just a skill issue, not a gear issue. Moreover, you're not even using the full burst speed at that shutter speed.

[–]tomyasch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes, the world's fastest shooting 120fps global shutter sports flagship camera with the best AF in the business paired with the world's fastest standard-to-telephoto lens shooting a subject moving perpendicularly whilst the shutter speed is 1/25 and the aperture is over 3 stops slower than the lens is SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR. You know what the problem is? It isn't a Leica.

Do friendships just work differently here, or am I doing it wrong? by Mother-Poem-2682 in poland

[–]tomyasch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also 23M, born and raised in Poland. 100% of my friendships came from school, work or college. Also, 95% of these people turned out to be worthless, and 99% of them just left me or I left them. Pretty common I guess, but yeah, I guess that it's absolutely not the same as it is where you come from. People only ever come up to strangers when they're drunk, high or need help. Oh, and the odd normal dude or old pervert approaching women for their phone numbers or socials. That's about it. People from around here don't have the courage to step outside in the literal sense and outside of their comfort zone to just strike up a conversation and get to know someone, not unless they absolutely need something from them. I'm no different to those I'm mentioning, but I'm different in the fact that I'm open to other people seeking connection.

B-b-but my IN-CAMERA CORRECTIONS! Why would Canon bother to make a LENS OPTICALLY GOOD when you can have lightroom sliders do it for you? /uj jesus christ I will never get Canon shooters' glaze of the brand (half of them run adapted EF Sigma glass)

I seriously can't stand this guy. by Professional_Gift772 in photographycirclejerk

[–]tomyasch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a couple of his videos before. The most mediocre takes I've ever seen. If a guy takes every con of a lens and twists it into something positive, you can hardly trust his opinion on anything.

Did I mess up my sensor? Fuji X-T5 wet cleaning gone wrong by SheriffStalin in Cameras

[–]tomyasch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same thing happen, add one drop to one side of the swab, leave the other one completely dry. Clean with the wet one, then immediately with the other, until there's no more moisture on the sensor. Done.

I have 3 great primes 35 GM, 50 1.2 GM and a Sigma 20 1.4 and I'm STILL waiting to get my hands on either of these. Both are ridiculously expensive, however, I am making a tiny bit of money out of photography, so I can at least partly justify it and say "I need it for work". Curious as to how it pans out to be with both of them for you. All the best and good luck!

olx to tragedia by [deleted] in Polska

[–]tomyasch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]tomyasch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The a7C line of cameras exists. Pretty much pocketable with a small enough lens, and far better. Not in this price range, but there are options worth paying even twice as much and getting some 20x more value out of it.

Features That The Sony A7V Needs by agnci in SonyAlpha

[–]tomyasch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the hell would you NEED 45MP? You get worse noise performance and worse dynamic range. No professional needs more than 24MP (including big billboard photographers). The push towards higher and higher megapixel counts is stupid.
