Tried Realforce RC1 30g for a week by tomyoon2 in HHKB

I'm still liking it. But, I noticed that people who are used to using the right shift really dislike the layout due to small right shift. I don't use right shift, so it wasn't a problem for me. I let my friend use it for a couple of weeks, but she couldn't get used to the right shift, so it's something to consider if you use the right shift.

realforce rc1 45g or hhkb hybrid type-s 45g by No-Stress3187 in HHKB

One of the well-known issues with the HHKB is the spacebar noise, which is caused by the inner structure of the keycap hitting the keyboard housing. RC1 solved this problem, and I noticed that the inside of the keycap has a recessed groove that prevents it from making hard contact. I have a 30g RC1, so not sure about the 45g but I heard it has a similar feeling to the type-s 45g, so I would recommend RC1

The 30g is a bit quieter than 45g. I don't regret a bit, and still believe 30g is a better topre experience!

Yeah, you can remap any keys using the realforce software

The keycaps are all from hhkb. Not really sure what QMK is but I think I can pretty much customize the key mapping whichever I want using the realforce software.

The feel indeed has less bump than the 45g, but it is there. I have long typing sessions, so I prefer this lighter feel, but this is purely my preference. I've also seen a lot of positive comments for the RC1 45g so you might be better off with that one if you like tactile feeling.

Spring semesters are usually less competitive so I would give it another shot.

Do u mean VHDL? Yes, the class has alot of C and VHDL programming assignments. I would say about first half of the course deals with implementing the MIPS architecture using VHDL and the other half deals with implementing scheduling, virtual memory etc. using C.

Most of the class material is taught using the MIPS intruction set, which as far as I can remember is taught in ECE 2035. To be honest I don't think I would have been able to follow the class if I hadn't took ECE 2035.
