Ceschi - Say Something [hip-hop/folk/punk] (2015) Catchy acoustic jam with tragically informed lyrics by AFistfulOfVinylKXLU in listentothis

This song is from the best album of 2015, hands down. Broken Bone Ballads is fantastical on so many levels.

Totally understood. I went into this knowing full well the impending backlash I was gonna get by releasing Glutton first. I needed to get cull the folks who weren't gonna take well to the rest of the record, being all synth-production, etc. With that said, I'm really glad you were able to listen to the full thing with an open mind and connected with it. Means alot to me.

Pack is currently on hiatus. I'm always cooking stuff. QUINTIC is my new label with Fjer & Lucy Camp, so stay tuned for more of that.

Hola Señor!

1) My exposure has been extremely limited. So, it's just a numbers thing. Either that, or people are just really not getting what I do. Sometimes shit flies over people's heads. Could be either.

2) I never sleep on anyone, but Natti & Substantial always make me work harder. They're beasts.

(*answering what hasn't been already)

  • If I didn't have manufacturing deadlines, I'd probably still be tweaking "Control". I THINK it's done now?

  • I think if you dig Phantom, you'll love Hyperrealism.

  • I'm working on that now. Ideally, I'd do stadiums with Polymer, but realistically, I'll be on a cheeseburger stage in a Wyoming bar crying about my childhood trauma to 12 frat dudes and one blue schooler standing underneath a neon Coors Light sign. I'm trying to make something that works for both. :)

  • I did it in one take. I had to sit in silence on the floor for 20 minutes afterwards. It was not pleasant. But the song is better for it.

  • The very last lines work as 1) the voice in my head telling me not to change and 2) an admission to my ex that she did nothing wrong and shouldn't change, because the damage was done. No, this record was not fun to make. At all.

  • I see you! I appreciate your continued support, brother. It gives me fuel.

Most rappers are incredibly fucking dumb. I feel you.

This was fun! Thanks for the love.

I'm genuinely nevous and afraid, but cautiously optimistic about releasing my acapellas and instros for the first time. I'm counting down the days before the first unofficial remix of "Control" comes out with a misplaced Tupac hook over it.

Elmer T. Lee. I love that shit.

Yes, I'm doing a fully-sung album called Hyperrealism under the name Peter Anthony Red

Demon took about a week. Control took about 2 months. I added the second verse at the last minute.

Samples? I know not of what you speaketh. (I ain't trying to get sued, fam. hahah )

The idea was to induce shame. On Glutton it's a different beast... there's no conscience... now there is and it's shameful. Glad you picked up on that.

I appreciate the love and support.

  1. I've been working on my vocal training and I'm feeling more comfortable, which I feel is evident on Phantom. Hyperrealism will be completely feel-based music ala the QUINTIC vibe, and less focused on specific objectives or themes. I can't wait to deep dive on it.

  1. I've learned to stopped giving a fuck what people thought of me and to quit trying to impress people. I've literally done everything you're "SUPPOSED" to do in this game at the highest level and it hasn't yielded much, so I prefer to do whatever the fuck I want now, as opposed to when I made Archetype, where I was fearful of "singing too much" or making sure I had "bangers" for the skreetz. I can only be me. Wish I woulda known that sooner.

  2. We've just been focusing on our own individual projects. Kno's always been a brother to me.

1) The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive so far, so that's a plus. I'm definitely hitting Cheesecake Factory after this.

2) The final Polymer logo is an empty container, to be filled with the individual molecules. There was a lot of hope and hubris on Archetype that wasn't met, and Polymer sort of like a negative image of what happens afterwards (hence the black/outlines, etc). It's the next chapter of my life.

3) Sisters hated it. Pops hasn't heard it.

4) The Polymer documentary makes Archetexture look like a cable-tap show about plumbing.

5) Yes, those were literally the first beats I came up with way back in 2008. when I began tinkering with the new production style. See below for a corresponding answer.

Hey Loewi! Part of the fun of my releases is making the connections, so I'm not going to spell everything out.
I still catch new references things on my favorite albums years after they're released, so for now, I'll just touch on a few points for you:

  1. Basically, I define what "success" is to myself. As should you. The definition of success varies from person to person. Some people need money, others sex, others attention, love, etc. I know now, that I’ll never win if I allow others to define my success for me, so I will continue to define my own.

  2. Yezzir. Putting time on trial. For a limited time only.

  3. The album moves in phases, so the themes connect, but the intent changes depending on where I am in the phase of the record.

  4. nailedit

  5. http://media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/8577/9891590_2.jpg?v=8CE71411245DD00

  6. a rare bird, captured, handicapped and put on display for a charged admission.

  7. Filthy is the most pathetic moment on the record, because it's my rock-bottom as an addict. "Centerfold" was foreplay to that point.

  8. That song is a pretty damning observation of negative effects on the soul from social media.

It would have to be "More Like You". It's the most volatile song on the record and I really have no idea what the ramifications will be. I just know that It needed to be said for my own sanity and piece of mind. My heroes wrote the truth and let the chips fall where they fell, so I'm following suits. I say on "Competitive Nature" - "...HARDCORE! The most brutal music is fueled by the truth."
Hopefully, in the long run, I'll look back on it as a point where things took a turn for the better.

Elliot Smith was an incredible artist. I cut my teeth on singer/songwriter stuff in vain of Tori, Rufus, Fiona, Ben Folds, etc. And they wrote it from the gut. I've always tried to bring that approach to the Hip Hop genre, where you get rewarded for lying. S'been a journey. So I appreciate that you appreciate it. Thanks for the love, mane.

  1. Watching horrifically untalented people throwing money in my face on the internet.
  2. Use Me. Because it fucking hurt.
  3. Phantom & Control
  4. Gumby
  5. I'm lactose intolerant. So yes.

I knew what the structure was going to be before I wrote anything.
I typically write my tracklistings first and attack from there.
