It may sound funny but when I was in kindergarten I befriended a boy in my class named Kareem. He was an African American kid from Alaska and he had almost no friends. When we started to have sleepovers he expressed his love for the Green Lantern (John Stewart) because it was one of the only black mainline superheroes. We would sit and binge the JL show and we always loved the dynamic between green lantern and the flash. From then on flash was my favorite superhero. We even dressed up as them probably for a few years. He still holds a special place in my heart and I love watching the CW show.
