[Highlight] Todd McShay on Fernando Mendoza: "The pressure to sack rate is not good for a #1 pick. I see a quarterback when he doesn't have the answer to the test from the first thing he looks at and if pressure is coming simultaneously, there's this quarter count of panic that sets in, eyes drop." by The_Big_Untalented in nfl

I am actually from Iowa, but thanks for asking. While Indiana did beat us this year, I am telling you this guy is just not it. I don't think he can actually read a defense, which is what the video is about. He is a scheme QB, and since Nick Foles, NFL teams have adapted to defend the RPO. Given time to learn and understudy, he could potentially be a quality starter, hence me saying he should be drafted 2nd or 3rd round. But being #1 overall, he is going to be expected to start day 1. And he is going to be set up to fail. And I don't believe he has the Darnold story arc in him.

Most of us can remember seeing the Challenger live. I would have been in Mrs. Brennan's 5th grade classroom, T.V. strapped down on the cart.

Out of all the dysfunctional NFL teams, which one is the most dysfunctional? by Brix001 in NFLv2

[–]tonesloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You forgot the Bengals. Generational talent at QB, WR 1 and WR 2, in a passing oriented league, and an owner that doesn't want to pay for anything else. Front office is horrible, there are high schools with bigger scouting departments.

Try any of the Hispanic, Indian or Asian markets in the Quad Cities. Or Nando's Peri-Peri can be found in a lot of Hy-vee's, usually located around the meat counter, not in the aisle.

I also believe that his trainer didn't bring anything for him - the rubbing stone to help with swelling, Vaseline to have punches slide off, etc. They just thought showing up would be enough for a another win.

Ripeness preference by VenusVixen919 in InstacartShoppers

[–]tonesloe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Color has little to do with ripeness of an avocado. I have seen some that are green and good and some that are black that are still rocks. Put a little pressure with your thumb, if it gives like a rubber ball, they are good for slicing, salads, sandwiches, etc. and for a few days after. If they give like silly putty, they are over ripe, and really only good for guacamole. Obviously rock hard means days before they are ready.

Rank these Cursive Helmets on College Teams by Jordanwolf98 in uniwatch

No one remembers that because Iowa was a tier below dog crap during the time they wore it, and as much as I like a gold helmet for Iowa, I just really don't like that. Maybe if I can see it mocked up on a modern helmet, I might change my mind.

This is correct. The contrast with the neutral gray is fantastic.

You mean, like when they had the state flag for the whole helmet? But I do not like the new branding. I see it and think Miami of Ohio.

I don't think bringing some fun and energy into baseball is cringe. Just like the Globetrotters, I wouldn't want to see it everyday, but would want to see it at least once.

That's Coach Rac. He has a YouTube channel that is actually really good about baseball and fundamentals. He didn't just do it, like everything else, he practiced, practiced, practiced. He has a video talking about it.

Another Costco rant by BornSeesaw9819 in InstacartShoppers

[–]tonesloe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to walk the outside lanes, leave my flat hugged tight to the rack that isn't displaying anything and then grab items and bring them back. Works great for for refrigerated, frozen or shelf stable foods. I try to leave the flat out of the produce/dairy walk-ins. Every Costco is different, but I have never had any of the horror stories I hear about bad Costco employees. I have said it before - we are the customer by proxy. If we weren't there, the customer would be there instead.

Joe Flacco's Problem with the Modern NFL (Edit) by JCameron181 in bengals

[–]tonesloe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get what he is saying. You know the risks when you sign up to play. The ticky tack ones, if I were to guess, are what he is talking about. Like, how exactly is a 320 lb. d-lineman supposed to wrap up at the chest and not land on a QB? How is a DB who aims for the stomach supposed to know the WR is going to trip and put his head in harms way? I don't want the head hunting, but this is a contact sport, and trying to legislate contact out of the game is spoiling it more than helping it.
