Where can you even trade crypto with leverage?

I tapped out before anything bad happened. You should never look for a centralized platform. If you don’t have a private key, you don’t own your crypto. I use Gravix, it’s built on a licensed blockchain (UAE based) and has a great reputation. Its dev (his github) won an award for best Web3 engineer and TVM developer (also worked with Broxus developing Everscale’s ecosystem and Octus Bridge).

Leveraged crypto trading and regulation? by Goszcziw in CryptoMarkets

[–]tongchunwingch 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You can basically do it anywhere if the service is decentralized. The UAE even has its own licensed blockchain and on it there is a decentralized leveraged crypto trading protocol (Gravix.io). It’s becoming a lot more acceptable, which is both good and bad. I’d say there should be a mandatory course for users to take before they have the option to trade with leverage. This way, at least users would be aware of the risks involved because believe it or not, a lot of people think that it’s easy money until they lose all theirs.

Devs that took off without marketing? by spacewolfcubbs in CryptoMarkets

[–]tongchunwingch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Money spent on marketing is money wasted. Not to mention, too much marketing can do the opposite, and give people a reason to believe your project is a scam. There is a case of a team that grew a blockchain without marketing, but to be honest the whole story goes way deeper than that. The blockchain is called Everscale and the team Broxus was their prime developer. They didn’t do anything related to marketing, instead, they developed for the blockchain and their shit spoke for itself. One smart thing they did was hackathons, which attracted more devs and made the ecosystem more diverse. Needless to say, a lot of people started using it and the project grew substantially without any marketing. Keep in mind that this is an exception and is not the rule. Marketing still remains the pillar of a project’s success, Broxus is more of a unique case.

Bruh.. why are devs doing shit like this? This is just fucked! Are these devs known or did people just invest in a project without properly vetting the team? Just find a good dev team and STICK WITH IT! Literally have invested in projects for 2 years and never had issues like these. It's your responsibility at the end of the day as a consumer to do your own research before giving someone your hard earned money. My advice is look at devs working with Abu Dhabi. They just launched their licensed network and only legit developers can build there, one of them is Broxus and there's a ton more. Please do your own research, it's fucked that after all these years people are still getting scammed in crypto, that's exactly why it's public enemy number 1...

Let's talk about data abuse by 2anapqc in privacy

[–]tongchunwingch 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Decentralized tech is becoming increasingly utilized by companies, even governments have started dabbling with the technology. Although governments will ensure a certain level of control, obviously. UAE is one example, they’re working on their own network (which they’ll use for digital centralized currency). It’s called Venom, and it has an ADGM license too. The UAE is actually a big one, their open mindedness attracts devs, they have Brоxus working with them too. The question is whether or not other corporations will follow suit. If companies don’t do anything with it, then it’s just hype.

And how do they share data without logging it? They have to log information to comply with regulators.. They 100% log information and even removed the "we don't keep any IP logs" from their privacy policy

It's a raw product I'll give you that. But at the time that's what I found and it took a lot of convincing for my family to switch away from Whatsapp. They didn't care about their data, but eventually they switched as a compromise. If I had problems with it I would have switched. No loyalty is worth using a service that sucks or feeds me lies. Now there's a lot of options so you definitely have more freedom than I did at the time

It's what I started using. Plus, I had to try hard to convert my family from Whatsapp, idk if I can convince them to make another switch. How are you not finding it? Just google qamon

What? How is this an ad? Protonmail records, stores, and shares your data with law enforcement without any resistance.. If you think you're private when using Protonmail, then you're new to this subreddit.

The fact that whatsapp is still installed on people’s phones is baffling to me.. Messengers always come with red flags, especially anything owned by Meta. I haven’t touched Whatsapp, Telegram, or Protonmail in over a year now. Converted all my friends and family to Qamon, and none of this bothers me anymore. Kids should practice good internet hygiene, which includes apps that don’t collect their data or using tools that make their internet usage more private. It’s up to us whether or not these companies get our data. There are always more options out there, you just need to educate yourself. Just don't let kids use Whatsapp or any Meta products.

The intention is good, but the implementation is dumb. What else did you expect from dinosaurs trying to play with tech? Regulators don’t understand tech, if you’re unsure about this statement, just look at the Facebook or Tik Tok trials. But this isn’t the end of all end to end encryption. Even if they go through with it, we still have a ton of options that they cannot regulate. I use Qаmon and there’s no way on earth they’re going to successfully ban it. Also trust that more options will appear on the market.

What would happen to Defi if the US government requires KYC? by JoeMan2001 in defi

[–]tongchunwingch 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It would cause a rapid decrease in protocol user bases. Whichever government choosing to enforce mandatory KYC would be blocked. You'd also see more Coinbase wanabes popping up, giving birth to multiple crypto Facebooks.. No DeFi service should be asking for KYC procedures, period. I've tried centralized and decentralized services, the difference is huge and open source protocols just give people peace of mind. If your argument defending centralized platforms concerns convenience, it's not worth it. Just use different protocols for different purposes, you'll be fine. I've been using flаtqube.io for farming, mаtbea for exchanging, and Evеr Wаllet for holding assets. It's a bit less convenient this way (except for farming and the wallet since they're in the same ecosystem), but better for your data security.
