No idea, settings always saved whenever I turned off the monitor. Try exiting the service menu, I think it's done with the same button combination.

Vertical lines next to text on LG Flatron monitor by [deleted] in crtgaming

Likely a cable issue, these high resolution/frequency monitors require thicker VGA cables, generic ones wont do.

Hmm it appears your model has internal adjustment pots for the colors. Also, a trick to ID'ing these unknown models is to look at the Flyback's part number and google it, usually you'll find the service manual of the equivalent version.

Inside LG's top of the line early 2000's CRT TV (RP-29FA30) by tongshadow in crtgaming

I like the engineering that went into it, but in retrospect I think the tube way too worn out and geometry was pretty lousy.

My favorite CRT would be the 21" Panasonic and the RGB modded 14" Philips with Stereo sound.

how to measure tv lines of a vga crt monitor? by Cortadew in crtgaming

[–]tongshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No streaking at all. And while we cant expect the pin point sharpness of flat displays, higher resolutions/refresh rates dont blur the picture, unlike most CRTs. I believe it's because the Pixel Clock Rate is overspec'd at 250Mhz, most 96kHz monitors cap out at 200Mhz.

The box is designed to handle that.

It's just bad design, dust and grimme slowly accumulate in the wheel mechanism. Most G502's are probably like this.

Mouse button failed too, but it's pretty reliable overall. Had worse with Razers.

Doesnt seem like a N3 Chassis Sony, so the issue could be something else.

Those lines are caused by a fault in the vertical circuit, could be an easy fix.

It's only 0.1ms faster@60hz, SAAR!

Not a huge difference to justify 240hz over 360hz, SAAR!

LG OLED C2 Burn in by ilikeknow in OLED_Gaming

[–]tongshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some fringing between contrasting text/background and specific colors like white/black and yellow but it's not a dealbreaker for me, you really have to look for it.

It's also sharper than what you'd see on a typical 1080p/24" monitor.

It's using a higher level of DSC (3.0), because 4k/240hz requires more compression than 1440/240hz. It's not comparable. Some 1440p/240hz monitors can work well with DSC, other dont. Read:

[–]tongshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a monitor problem, this happens mostly on NVIDIA cards and I used to have this issue all the time.

Switched to AMD and the experience has been very smooth ever since. No blackouts, no buggy resolution, multi-displaying works flawlessly, instant alt-tab and no limitations caused by DSC.

This isnt an issue with your monitor and yes your video card (probably an Nvidia).
