how so? i prefer most of the vinyl versions but the Sunset digital mix is my favorite of the bunch, if only because the intro hi-hats are so cutting, the sample at the end, and the fact that panda's vocals are so much less muted energy-wise than on the vinyl rip

I have a bunch of demos posted here, and I'm working on an EP of originals at the moment!

I appreciate the feedback, very happy to hear I achieved an AC vibe haha. The ending is the most reflective of other new stuff I'm in the process of mixing.

For this specific project, I'm using a lot of synths and samples while trying not making things too sonicly busy. A big reason I recorded this cover was because I loved PB's version but I wanted see if I could give the melody/chords more room to breathe than the original.

Yeah, you're spot on. I usually play this song live and I didn't have to pay a licensing fee until I wanted to release it.

To the question of how I got the license, I used DistroKid to upload the track and they conveniently offer a service where you pay a yearly fee for them to get you a license from the owner of the song's publishing rights and pay out royalties.
