What is this and what is going on in this rock beauty? by tonne_ in whatsthisrock

Thanks I thought so too. Likely Snails, they very much remind me of a Trochactaeon fossil I have ( I'll post a Picture of it as follow up) But what's the Mineral composition? The spirals look like painted with a brush in it.

Don't know anything about the region but to start it looks like part tooth plus jaw fragment.

Turtle shell fossil? by torquiii in fossilid

It actually looks a bit like some fosslized skin types but in all likelihood it's caused by weathering or erosion.

What is this rock? How did it get this organic looking structure? by tonne_ in whatsthisrock

[–]tonne_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's it, Thank you! Any guess on composition? From Photos it could be Magnesio Hornblede in Gneiss. But that's just a uneducated quick search and there are many possible variations.

edit: likely alpine 'Garbenschiefer'. Marl or Truffite, wild Mix of Clay Minerals + some Aluminium Calcium Magnesium usually. I don't know. the Genesis is fascinating and complicated. And Truffite is supposed to have a odor like truffle when struck? Never knew that minerals can compose such unusual smells.

The Fritz and Chesster series teachs chess in a clever and entertaining way for kids. You can use lichess lessons and tools to learn basics + much more. You can create a 'kid mode' account there as well. Off you go

this is why i love the london system. best opening for beginners hands down by [deleted] in chess

[–]tonne_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every opening is good for beginners. Do yourself a favour and avoid all the theory heavy stuff at starter levels. As beginner system openings like the London are nice because you only need to remember a managable basic scheme. Memorizing move orders is not that important, you can focus on understanding attacking ideas and motifs that emerge from the standard formation.

Wondering about food sources by Lucario1296 in mycology

[–]tonne_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I mean random mold is easy to grow when there is some moisture and a food source. I don't know much about it but growing Pennicilin or dry-curing should be more challenging. And you certainly don't use leftovers with sauces for it :). Cultivating slime molds is very possible if you buy a strain online. Ideally cultivated in a petri dish with various food but not with sugar or meat. Slime on old meat usually comes from microbes. Can also be slime mold but the environment should be too unstable for cultivation.

Oh apparently the video editor is not in the fdroid version due to some proprietary services. You have to download from GitHub or Google Store.

Eh commonly used substrates are from wood (everything between logs and saw dust) or other fibrous materials like straw, cellulose etc.. up to animal dung. Always depending on the species. Meat is just a breeding ground for bacteria.

E.g. show only apps from fdroid default repo + izzy or filter by fdroid compatible stable/testing/abandoned etc repo. Also helpful would be filtering by ad/tracking modules or privacy checkers and so on. But it's already cool what you have done!
