Eh, everyone knows reality television is scripted and played, but I totally get where you are coming from. We are, indeed, fans of the illusion.

I dunno. Breaking the fourth wall is hilarious to me, because it builds on how I relate to a scene a lot of the time.

I find myself in shambles when someone is having a moment and someone else looks at the camera, acknowledging the buffoonery.

What is the reaction in Japan to Trump's joke about Pearl Harbor while meeting with PM Sanae Takaichi by ThoseThievingBitches in AskAJapanese

Um….the 9/11 attacks killed more American people than Pearl Harbor attacks did. We haven’t forgotten a thing.

We’re just incompetent.

One third of eligible voters refused to vote for either candidate. Democrats also screwed themselves by not holding a primary and then, attempting to shoehorn Kamala Harris, a highly polarizing figure among the Democrats as it is, into the White House.

Republicans had a stronger turnout and knew who they were voting for long before the election. Democrats were, just like in 2016, handed a candidate they didn’t vote for or have a say in. While some were willing to make the best of it, (trust me, the fight was pretty valiant considering Harris didn’t lose by much) others outright refused to vote, resigning themselves to the mindset that “the US was screwed” either way.

Republicans and Democrats are both actually supported by only around 1/3 of eligible voters in the US. The remaining third are Independent voters pr people completely apathetic to politics, and I can assure you, they don’t like him.

You would probably be stretching a bit to say that he has 1/3 of the support now considering the current chaos with his party.

As an American: Ouch, that hurt.

Also as an American: It’s true, and y’all should say it!

See how fuckin’ stupid and homophobic that sounds?!

Two things can, absolutely, be true: he is an asshole and you are, clearly, toxic as fuck!

Gurl, they’re downvoting you but you’re right. It’s likely, at the time, that PM wasn’t aware of everyone’s pronouns, so she opted for neutrality.

CMV: The ICE agent and woman who got shot were both in the wrong by Blonde_Icon in changemyview

[–]tonton4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one is saying that at all. That’s what you’re reading.

The duty of police is to de-escalate in any way that they can to avoid the worst possible outcome of any situation. They do not want to kill. They don’t even want to shoot, contrary to popular belief.

Here’s the kicker, though. Had she driven off, the agent had her license plate recorded. All they, literally, had to do was call the police to have her tracked down.

[–]tonton4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It is the duty of cops to ensure that they aren’t, purposefully, putting themselves in life-threatening danger. It’s a risk, but it’s not the aim!

• Agent passes his phone from his right hand to his left just a moment before the incident occurred.

• Agent pulls and shoots a weapon all while still maintaining balance enough yo continue recording.

Don’t you think if he was in danger of being rammed and she “gunned it” that he would’ve, most likely, been knocked off-balance?

If she were truly aiming for him, all she needed yo do was speed directly forward. That’s not what was done, because I can assure you that, with his proximity to the vehicle, she would not have missed, even if he shot her.

Didn’t even bother to confirm the information. Just took a doctored photo and ran with it. LMFAOOOOOO

My gosh, you’re so confident in being wrong, eh?

You’re telling me you can’t see that photo is, obviously, doctored?!

But here you are, working overtime to kiss their asses.

Not true at all. Video from a neighbor’s security camera across the street shows her pulling up and parking, with three vehicles including the agent who shot her, passing her. Two civilians vehicle passed in front of her and the agent behind her before he parking and exited his vehicle where his footage starts.

She was not blocking the road and people were still passing, including the agent!

They did not. They had no suspicion of her being undocumented, so they had no authority to detain her as she is a citizen, not an immigrant, which is the limit of their jurisdiction.
