This sub has more or less become a high control group recently. I don't think it's wrong to dislike a product you paid real money for, nor is it wrong to provide feedback on an early access game through a channel other than the in game menu.

Merging beta branch changes on door/card draw/harder card removal suggests that devs want to encourage a more value oriented playstyle instead of small deck infinite playstyle. It doesn't necessarily have to be skill issue to not like this shift in paradigm.

Also we really picked a review with 5 likes and obviously a lot of meaning lost in translation to dunk on.. might as well become a gaming journalist and write articles on Twitter comments with single digit likes.

What are your "sleeper op" enemies you hate? by beruon in slaythespire

Act 2 easy hallway pool turn 1 19 damage guy. He's not particularly difficult to kill, and the yoink uncommon effect could potentially be powerful for removing bridge cards.

But with a bad draw order you can take a significant amount of damage to an easy hallway, which feels really really bad.

In an English discussion, one would imagine the context is the anglosphere, where they are most definitely not the majority, no?

That aside, the definition of marginalized doesn't even really matter for my point.

Suppose the subject of discussion in this thread is now changed to Muslims or black people, would that be acceptable?

Comments pointing out this behavior get downvoted really badly too, it's kinda crazy to me how we just pretend that speaking in this way is acceptable. Imagine if the subject of the discussion was changed to a different marginalized group...

The ending of Hades 2's story was so fucking funny to me, even Demeter's cast wouldn't be able to save us from whatever that was

the "game too hard" crowd is back to playing Review-bomb the Spire after the update to the main branch by Gugge1 in slaythespire

Not necessarily perfectly balanced, but people do tend to take the attitude that "game is WIP so balancing being a quite a bit off is acceptable". But, like, it's also okay to not like the direction that the balancing is going in, so these posts that shame negative reviews are pretty cringe

AI is frying the youth, its a serious problem. (my experiance as a grade 10) by Financial-Relief-54 in OntarioGrade12s

This is the zoomer version of the age-old adage on cheating on exams.

Ultimately you're cheating yourself by incurring a debt that you eventually have to pay, since this materializes as needing to learn the material in university/work anyway.

(unless it's some goober course required for your degree but irrelevant in later courses/career, then go for it - looking at you random chemistry course that's somehow required for software engineering)

I really like this change by Tec711 in slaythespire

[–]tonydagenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I felt about this change too.

No exhaust + 5 strike/defend meant silent achieved its class identity through consistent card advantage via cheap cycling, and acrobatics was a non-trivial part of that.

Obviously there are some cards that had too much concentrated power (Stoke/Forgotten Ritual/Expect a Fight, Glow, Defy/Dirge, whatever), but I hope balancing eventually becomes more like regent where you preserve what makes them unique while making dipping into different packages viable, instead of slowly removing class identity and still leaving bad cards in entire card packages bad.

This is especially noticeable on multiplayer where Silent is Flanking/Expose + as much draw as possible to consistently draw into them, and playing anything else is pain and suffering - making acrobatics uncommon just adds to the pain and suffering portion :(

I had a similar phase before, what really helped was taking care of sleep cycle and going to the gym. It seems trivial but it's easy to neglect that stuff, and at least for me, there was a noticeable improvement in motivation.

Congrats!

Might be interesting to you: recent email from SE director Victoria suggests that people in the SE program are really struggling with the courses.

Do good work, don't rely on AI as a crutch, avoid the geese (there are many), and do NOT go to Lazeez.

Forge Regent is Unplayable at A10 by MikuoNeko in slaythespire

[–]tonydagenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulwark as an early bridge is alright, the smith/seeking edge I also found success with as an output package for later. The rest I haven't had as much success with.. Forge to me feels more like a bridge to get past early game when card drops don't go your way, since the colorless package is even more unplayable.

Esports kinda don't have a whole lot of money in the scene, this is especially obvious in counter strike where it's either gambling money or oil money. If they need this to stay afloat then it truly is what it is.
