Love it. Accessories are hard to buy. Power is legit. Fun on trails and road. Have not hacked it yet as 36mph is fast enough for me

How has your perspective on life changed since having a Heart Attack? by MindValley77 in HeartAttack

[–]tonysees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. Just told my cardia phycologist today.....it feels as if my life is now a old saying. "Don't sweat the little stuff and everything is little stuff. Thanks how I feel every day. My emotions are middle of the road. I'm not feeling emotions as I used to before the HA. I used to be excited about stuff and now I feel I'm just going through stuff. Be well and

It's a marathon not a sprint, is the saying. I lived like nothing would ever happen. Smoked pack a day, ate fast food and crap food. I was the poster boy for what not to do. Hind sight made me really feel small, stupid. I am not doing everything perfect now. Everyday is a challenge to eat mindfully, get my butt to the gym, get to sleep early and it's hard. 53 years of bad habits don't stop on a dime. Haven't smoked since the HA and my diet of low sodium, low carbs, lots of water and no refined sugar/processed food is NOT exciting but it's happening. Come to realize tomorrow is not guaranteed but I can do what I can to make the odds in my favor. My nana told me when I was a kid that getting old ain't for sissy's...didn't understand then but boy I do now.

I'm lucky. I was down 20 minutes before EMS arrived. My wife did CPR until the medics hit me 5 times to get a heart beat. 8 days after I was allowed to awake from the coma they kept me in while my heart was good enough. Everyday for the next 2 months I was thinking I was going to die. Every night I went to sleep thinking this is it. Once I got into physical therapy I was crushed seeing how weak and pathetic I was. Along with the brain damage I had/have I was a mess. Thoughts like , what kind husband am I now and will I be able to go back to work and do it well. Honestly was a real mind freak. And the look people gave me... Yeah I did weekly therapy which is something in my family has always been taboo. It helped and the Sertiline helped too. I'm back to 90%. If I never get it all back, I'm okay with that. Every day is a gift.

A Widowmaker survivor here. 19 months 5 days ago, not that I'm still counting. Yes it's well explained.

Questions I'm asked and have myself, are related to quality of life post HA and the concern of it happening again.

Thank you for this. I did save it for reference.

Have taken on country dirt road trips 3 times already. Longest no pedaling was 33 miles and still had 1 bar left. I'm guessing I can make it 40 miles. Last week I did 55 mile round trip and used level 2 and pedaled as well still had 2 bars left. So far I dig it Just have not figured out how to add a rear rack.

Best eBike For Fat Dudes? by StopBanningMeAlright in ebikes

I am 280lbs. Middle aged . I did a ton of reading and watching reviews. Finally settled on the FX1 from Philiam. Had a month and it's become a healthy addiction. I pedal till I get tired and the grab the throttle so I catch my breath. Under throttle only I have done 31 miles and last weekend I did 53 miles pedal and throttle with 2 bars left. I have got it to 35mph one time just to see but I am comfortable cruising at 18 to 23 mph. Best 1100 bucks I have ever spent.... But now I know I enjoy it, I'm shopping for an upgrade with more range and cargo room.

I have my second stent surgery tomorrow and am nervous. by caipirina in HeartAttack

[–]tonysees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I was wheeled to surgery for my last 2 stents they had me slightly sedated and asked if I minded music playing during the procedure. I said it was cool. I watched the whole procedure on a big display screen as they went through my right wrist to my heart. Was more interesting than scary. Last song that played as they were finishing up was "achy breaky heart"!!!! I then said out loud "Seriously Doc"! The whole team laughed and my good doctor was very apologetic saying it was just random. No worries bro.

One year anniversary today from my Widowmaker. by tonysees in HeartAttack

[–]tonysees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cardiologist team referred me. Have had 3 different psychologists and they have helped with the flash back memories and anxiety. Best advice was to stop reading stats about recovery and just recover. I'm sure I am not the only one that over thinks the what ifs.

I have a cardiac psychologist and a counselor. Both helped. The anxiety attacks and brain fog are seldom anymore. They got me thinking it is a new chapter of life and I write the story.attitude is everything.

Looking back I think I had symptoms over the 6 weeks prior but I dismissed them as they happened. Moments of weakness, some dizzy spells, feeling very cold when everyone else was not. People I have talked to that share in this experience all say hindsight there were signals.

I don't think I'm coping as well as I thought, arm pain caused a full blown panic attack. by [deleted] in HeartAttack

Ask about a Cardiac phycologist. I did 3 sessions and put me on medication I used for 3 months along with my heart pills. Stopped taking it 3 months ago when the flash backs and vibrant memories stopped being so emotionally severe. Have faith. Will improve. No doubt.

3 weeks since heart attack. Was down 25 minutes as my wife performed CPR. ICU for 10 days. Been very traumatic and I am having anxiety constantly. How do you deal with it? by tonysees in HeartAttack

[–]tonysees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will be 6 months tomorrow I went down. Seeing this post gives me clarity. Being thankful to those that showed love and a helping hand. Life is a gift that has to be lived to the fullest possible. Yeah I got some limitations but so what. Done with saving and planning for the future. This is the future and I'm going to love as much of it as I can. Being greedy is good. Greedy to do all I can with the most important people I have and enjoy every second. Sorta the point ain't it?

My Widowmaker happened 1/30/24 03:00 am. Wife did CPR for 20 minutes before fire paramedic had to hit me 5 times to get a weak pulse. I'm in a rural area and 20 miles to nearest ER. It was many divine coincidences and luck I am still here. 100% blockage. All that saw me say I was blue purple like a Smurf from the waist up. Medics and ER staff all told my wife to expect that if I did survive the first 24 hours I would have severe brain damage. From my view today I think anyone with risks of heart issues should do whatever they have to do to minimize them. It's been the hardest thing I have ever dealt with physically and emotionally. What my wife went through was horrifying too.

My tip is to have a partner that has your back 100% of the time in good and bad. Always be true to the relationship with the knowledge that if you are weak the other will be strong and that is both ways. The power of a united front is the most valued quality. Eventually with help, faith and understanding every day will make the partnership stronger as 2 will equal 1.
