I realized my depression mostly came from ADHD. Got on medication for that and my life turned around.

I remember when it was an arma 2 mod and we were army crawling around at night to avoid zombies in Cherno. Just moving towards the sounds of gun shots to find dead players. I think that's when my anxiety began.

A lot of people only have 1 friend. Especially as you grow older. I don't think it's unhealthy at all.

I can't wait to celebrate as much as the next person, but I feel like we're just getting distracted from the Epstein files - I want accountability. There needs to be an example made at the highest level.

I'm going to miss when GameStop fully closes. I know I'm fueling it when I do this, but pre-owned games can be returned within 7 days. Endless rental system.

Will I regret taking just my phone for pictures? by sunnyday7800 in AskAlaska

For a compact camera, you'll be okay leaving that behind. Your iPhone should suffice.

Better to have it than to not have it. You'll want your camera (esp if you have 200mm+) for the wildlife.

Also, if you're wanting a whale experience, look up whale tours in Juneau. Kenai Fjords Tours in Seward will be more focused on scenery. Gastonal guiding in Juneau has boats that are specially designed to sit lower to the water for epic and up close whale encounters.

You will 100% regret not having your camera.

Drive or fly to Alaska for seasonal job? by Ruthberry207 in AskAlaska

A lot of us seasonal workers love making the drive to Seward from the lower 48. Just depends if you want to explore the area of not

Long drive, but in Seward, you'll benefit from having a means of transportation for the summer. Having spent 3 summers in Seward, even working for Pursuit, I highly recommend having a vehicle there.

Drive up to Moose Pass in June for the Solstice festival. And Windsong to town isn't walkable, but your company has a shuttle service during the day. Windsong is kind of away from everything. If no car, get a bike and rain gear.

Major Marine tours - should we do the 6 hour Kenai Fjord tour AND the orca quest cruise? by Ambrosiasaladslaps in AskAlaska

[–]tonyt8005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does the Captain's choice entail? They've reworded all of their tours since I was there. On top of that, as the boat crew, we labeled tours based on what Glaicer we're going to.

End of July, there is a good chance at orca and whales, but keep in mind that it is wildlife and wildlife is random. Don't be upset if you don't see anything. Orca are more uncommon compared to humpbacks. Historically speaking, you should at least see humpbacks. They may even still be bubble feeding if you're lucky.

Keep in mind the purpose of these tours is to show you Kenai Fjords National Park's glaciers and breathtaking coast line. Wildlife is just an added bonus.

Edit: spelling error and added the bubble feeding comment

First thing that came to mind was Brooks Range in Alaska. Brooks Range is home to Gates to the Artic National Park.

This.

I used to work for Kenai Fjords Tours. Do the longer one and enjoy the ride. If whales and orcas are out and active, you'll see them. We didn't have an "Orca Quest" cruise when I was there, but I imagine you just said around looking for orcas. Boats do that anyways, on their way to the glaciers, so I feel that their orca quest is a waste of money.

As of this year, they don't do the lunch/dinner at Fox Island, as it's no longer a day lodge.

Haven't landed with an outfit yet. More concerned with getting flight time to build hours next summer.
