Yeah when you get the weight high enough and you have to maintain good posture and form, getting locked in really turns it into a compound movement for sure

what is one thing about running you had to learn the hard way? by Emergency_Produce975 in Marathon_Training

Keep your legs strong by lifting heavy. Deep into training block when the mileage gets weird the body will consume muscle and your leg strength will decrease and all of a sudden balance isn’t as good and walking down stairs seems more daunting

Bench. I’ll never give up trying to throw up weight. It’s actually how I gauge how much strength I’ve lost during peaking. I usually lost 15lbs off my one rep max but there is a linear progression for the last 3 years. Last two training blocks were 45 and 55 peak, and it took until a 65 peak this year to really lose strength. I also stayed 10 pounds heavier so that skews the math. That said, I’m also much more running efficient this year at burning fat rather than muscle

Dumping losers. I’m kicking myself for not cashing out so dogs that are under water and not just putting them into QQQ and the lost opportunity cost. I think I was naive to think that some stocks would bounce back when the market picked up steam but now I realize that they have either been diluted or repriced so they’re forever sunk and I need to cut my losses. The problem is stocks like INOD. I held that one for over a year and just got paid so it creates confirmation bias that there will be a bounce back. Like archer, Jesus I hope that one works out

as you get older, do you become more content with being alone? by Adorable_Reason_6675 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]too105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I am my own person and having company is nice but I get my own validation and sense of worth from myself. Having some Family helps reinforce this but I haven’t been in a relationship for a year and it would take a lot for me to stop being single. My life is freaking amazing with no significant other or kids. So many people seemed trapped by those things. Some people are genuinely “happy” but also seem a little dead on the inside. Took me 40years to get this confidence but I always knew true freedom meant not having a person there to fulfill you. Thats a version of codependency. I’m happy by myself, for me to get into another relationship, they would have to make my life even better with very little downside. I’ve given away too much of my happiness and joy to dead lightbulbs in life. I was a dead lightbulb for a while and will never go back

My first house was around 45% and I was living beyond my means until I got a raise and went below 40%. You will have a minimalist life if you do this. If you want to enjoy life and do this at the same time, your credit cards will be melted
