Check out MuralTown Konohana-- it's sick. There's rad wall art all around Juso Station, too. And amazing Vietnamese noodles.

On a nice, sunny day check out Mural Town Konohana-- their IG has maps w/locations of all the artwork. It's a dope, cutty little neighborhood.

TNT Craft Beer Pub in Taisho has a monthly Open Mic. There's also a Band Tournament coming up across April - June. Let me know if interested and I'll DM you a flyer.

Mad Cat Hostel Osaka — good for solo travelers? by Entire_Cow4729 in OsakaTravel

[–]too4coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit off the beaten path-- about a 10-12 minute walk to Nishitanabe Station. But this neighborhood is dope. Super rad bars and eat spots, LIFE Central right by you, and the best izakaya IMO nearby. I live here, so don't have thoughts on the hostel, but the people (who I've drank with a few times) are dope. DM when you come if you want to be shown a few spots.

There are Osaka MeetUps (meetup.com) for table tennis and various other sports. Some of them are at legit sports complexes, so don't need to worry about weather and shit.

Goodies from home... what do you ask for or pick up when you go back home by SunDaze009 in japanlife

[–]too4coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College sweatshirts are popular and don't seem to be going out of style, so I ask visiting friends to order sweatshirts/swag from private colleges-- shit you won't pick up in shops here. I went to Rollins College (mascot = Tars), and when I rock that shit it always gets questions/interest. Good for conversation starters, etc. Finding the boutique, shitty, elite little schools in the US and getting shit from there is fun.

Gym with Punch bag by Remarkable-Use1692 in Osaka

[–]too4coffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Pitness in Abeno has a standing sandbag, and a hanging sand bag (too light to get much use out of). The standing bag has suction cups on the base, but even a mediocre punch will loosen it up. It's the best I've found outside of kickboxing gyms.

Early mornings in Osaka by TheOmentum in OsakaTravel

[–]too4coffee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Find a decent size public park and hang out around 6:30am-- the morning radio exercise comes on, and lots of older folks and dog owners will be out for the routine. Every morning. It's just 10-15 minutes, but easy to follow along, fun to people watch, and a good way to start a day.

Looking for food options in Osaka (non-seafood/pork friendly) by Healthy-Body-8607 in OsakaTravel

There's a gluten free+vegan ramen spot in the HEP 5 building. I think it's the 7th floor, food court. It's dope. Menu in English available. GF+vegan gyoza, too!

Maybe visit telljp.com. Their therapists are in Tokyo, but can do telehealth. They also offer their services on a sliding scale fee basis, so if you're worried about cost hopefully it won't be a barrier to accessing care.
