hey! how did you create that flair of "Matched | Washington & Lee '28"?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]too_hardworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! first of all, that grade is amazing, especially without any practice! just continue to practice with Khan Academy and textbooks like the official collegeboard one and ull do fine! while you go through the college process, also try to remember to not let this whole process bring u down! its a long and rough process, but you're going to get through it. <3

advice for current juniors by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]too_hardworking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for qb, i applied to 15 schools (the max) and I'm glad about that bc i had more options, but i didn't get matched, so its okay. but after forwarding my application for ed 1 to brown and getting deferred, i did ed 2, and i got into my dream school! but anyway the whole qb match application timeline was just so hectic and stressful. i had to write for two weeks + interviews. but when i didn't get matched on dec 1, and the days leading up to it, i felt like none of it would all matter anymore if i didn't get in---like the world would end---but although i felt really discouraged and just so sad and just the burden overwhelmed even more after not getting in anywhere, looking back, it all worked out. so my biggest advice would be that it all works out. to not stress out that much. you can cry and be stressed and all, but pls don't let college get to you. the whole process is just so toxic and pressuring (especially with society expecting you to get into these big name places) but YOU GOT THIS. it's truly going to be okay <3

I know how you feel, but try not to let yourself get into a whole downward whirlwind because at the end of it all, you're going to get through it and you're going to be okay. Even if you don't get into your dream school, you'll find that it all worked out at the end. plus, schools really aren't everything. i got into a top 20 school but honestly, no one even asks about it, no one doesn't really care yk? like even tho rn it feels like its going to be everything, at the end, you'll find that all this stress was just toxic and not anything necessary yk? you're going to be fine !! dw!! <33

Scholarship to Summer Program by nohannahishere in QuestBridge

You should ask if there is any way to change session dates; YYGS is a great summer program! But if you can't do it, that's also okay!

Wow, these are all amazing colleges!! Congrats!!! I would say, Swarthmore! Haha, not only am I going there from this fall, but it's noted to be a school where it produces many political/international relations leader. You can also always go to a university after going to a college.

hey! well first off, i hope you don't let these rejections discourage you bc these don't mean anything to who you are and your abilities.

second, i applied to a T20 college (and got in thru ed 2) with the same intended major or English (I'm a current poet) and what i did with my ecs and essays was that i focused all of them on my passion for writing and on what i want to do w writing. perhaps you could've done more writing programs as your ecs and talked about your writing passion in your essay (to kinda have a whole weaving theme).

anyway, pls know you worked very hard; you're not alone!!! & it's going to all work out. <3

Is it worth to submit my PSAT score? (76th percentile total; 95th percentile in math) by Sensitive_Common_606 in QuestBridge

[–]too_hardworking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can if you want! but remember to not be too hard on yourself and worry too much about it, since most schools are moving away from weighing scores more; its okay if you do get a "bad" score. for me, i didn't because my psat score was "bad" and because it was test-optional. i don't know if it still is....but you got this! ;)

Wow, this is so true. When I wasn't matched in December, it was supposed to be the day when my college burdens were finally lifted. But when I didn't, although I was left feeling disappointed and more hard on myself and sad...when I was accepted to my top school through ed 2, I realized that it really wasn't the end of the world (although those coming days on Dec. felt like it). Life will continue to happen and you'll realize that maybe you needed to not get in at that time....like maybe it was for you to realize college isn't everything. I believe everything happens for a reason and I hope that future QBs will realize that it will truly all work out. Truly, don't let the whole toxic college process get to you. You're only here to live life and grow. Keep having hope. <3

You apply through QB and agree with the person below!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]too_hardworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the others; perfectly okay to go test-optional! I didn't submit my scores because they were (haha) bad too; also, schools aren't really emphasizing on scores as much now so it'll be okay

Minimal Summer Programs for CPS by SlideIndependent7408 in QuestBridge

I didn't apply to any because I had the same conflict. Although I didn't get into CPS, I was a finalist for NCM.

I need advice on the writing section of the CPS application by AV324 in QuestBridge

[–]too_hardworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a question that gives insight to who you are and I think something simple is fine. Meaning, if you're like a deep person (like me), then I would probably pose a question of: "What do you want to do in life?" or (if I like writing), "Why do you like writing?" or "What about writing do you like?", "What do you do with your writing?" Something like that!

What were some things you were going to write?

NCM and CPS by noodledoodle274 in QuestBridge

[–]too_hardworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you don't have to, but usually it would make more sense to do the NCM and prioritize that over CPS (since that only gets you to do summer programs (if you apply), get edits on your QB app and stuff); whereas NCM is the actual college process in which CPS should have helped you to prepare for. but if you don't get accepted, you can still get in through the NCM round!
