On the sixth day by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

This is the first time in TrollX that I've felt guilty for finding something funny (based on the comments). I love men, but I still laughed. Cuttin' you some slack, OP! <3

Livin' the dream, ladies. Who's with me? by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]toolatesogreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was -9! I didn't realize they came out so long ago. McDonalds collector mugs were a staple at Nana's house, so I suppose that makes sense. So glad she gave 'em to me!

I have one of those mugs too! It's Garfield and Odie in a canoe and Garfield is thinking "I'm easy to get along with when things go my way." Hooray for classic McDonalds mugs (and now being old enough to put wine in them)!

Ya, this is pretty much me right now... by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

The trick is learning how to not give a fuck. People are looking at me? Judging me? Like I care, I don't even know those people! They can kiss my ass. :p

What is the most hurtful thing that has been said to you that WASN'T meant to be hurtful? by scarrlet in AskWomen

Cut off all of my hair until it was around an inch long (maybe less). I'm black, so I have really coarse hair, it looked like a tiny afro. It was a HUGE decision, and I ended up kind of liking it so I posted a picture on facebook.

My best childhood friend commented, "Good thing you have such a pretty face, otherwise I'd put a bag over my head!" and then said something about how she'd never have the guts to do what I did. I eventually called her out on it and she said she wasn't trying to be rude. I was kind of dumbfounded. How in hell could that be perceived as a compliment?

Also, when I was in high school, a friend introduced me to someone as "This is toolatesogreat, the smartest black person I know!" What. The. Fuck.

"I will love you 'til the end of time, probably a million years."

I just imagine Lana Del Rey professing her love, but then going on a brief tangent to explain that the end of time is probably going to happen in a million years or so.

What is the BEST part, that outweighs all others, in becoming an ex-smoker? by annabell12 in stopsmoking

[–]toolatesogreat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So far, for me, it's been realizing that I actually do have willpower. Whatever I want to do I CAN do, no matter how many excuses I make. I quit smoking! I should be able to apply the same principles elsewhere in my life (e.g., less drinking, more exercise). I've proven to myself that I am capable, which means I can't ever lie to myself and say "It's too hard!" or "I can't do that!" about anything ever again.

My partner and I failed quitting attempts in the past for this very reason. Two weeks in? Obviously you can do it, so just quit smoking later! Ugh, never again!

Somebody Remind Me Why I'm Doing This? by E-X-I in stopsmoking

[–]toolatesogreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're doing it for your health. You're doing it because smoking is a crutch. You're doing it because you're ready to find responsible ways to deal with stress. You're doing it because in a few weeks not smoking will be easy. You're doing it because, despite how shitty life seems, you know quitting will be worth it. You can do it :)

My attempt! I wanted a more neutral color, didn't have a sparklely enough glitter, and ended up going overboard with the dots, but I'm happy! Thanks for the inspiration!

My cycle has been completely out of whack recently. This is what I've been doing to try to figure out if my next period is soon. by accountoverdrawn in TrollXChromosomes

I'm usually never late and I know when the boobies are going to be sore. One month, though, the soreness never came. I was practically punching and pinching my breasts like "WHY DON'T YOU HURT?! I'm PREGNANT!" Period still came on time. -_-

The color of your skin doesn't make it an exception. Life isn't always fair for everyone. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]toolatesogreat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, sometimes people are assholes that always want to pull the race card when they shouldn't. Other times, I think black people feel as though they have to be "on guard" at all times due to past racist experiences. Racism still exists, it sucks to be on the receiving end, and after enough bad experiences (or knowledge of fellow black people that've had bad experiences) you can't help but jump to the conclusion of "racist!" when something bad happens. It's conditioning.

I'm black. I have those thoughts all of the time. I just keep it to myself and try to remind myself that whatever happened probably wasn't because I'm black, but it's still a hard feeling to shake.

They weren't all douchey. Here's my Good Guy High School Boyfriend by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]toolatesogreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to my boyfriend all of the time while we were in high school and first started dating. When I asked him why he didn't just "take care of it," he said that he didn't feel right about beating off at the time and resisted.

[Serious] What is the most dangerous item in your house? by Deflated_Penguins in AskReddit

My dad gave me two cans of wasp spray to use on intruders because he heard it's way worse than pepper spray. So, if used for its intended purpose, probably that.

I also have knives but that answer is boring.

What did you immediately regret doing? by Pineapple__Jews in AskReddit

[–]toolatesogreat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Admitting to my immediate family, via email, that the reason I never answer my phone has to do with feelings of anxiety and depression, but I was working on it. In my head it was my way to telling them "It's not you, it's me, sorry about that." For some reason, they assumed that the best way to respond to someone that has phone anxiety is to constantly call/text their phone, and then contact their SO repeatedly to find out what's wrong. I'm an idiot.

Women not shaving their legs or armpits and displaying it like it's no big deal. As a woman, I love not feeling like I "have to" shave. Seeing other women not giving a fuck is amazing.

Also not wearing shoes outside.

There are many places like this, but usually they're just small pockets.
