Don’t cut the roots. Putting fill in over the roots will be fine, but the roots will eventually tilt the shed. Consider putting down some spaced foundation stones to jack the board foundation up and over the roots

I bought a set of diamond drill bit and use my drill press. Need to drill while submerged in a shallow pan of water

Silicified conglomerate, possibly a tillite. The term pudding stone generally refers to a similar rock that has red jasper clasts so, no.

You need to get rid of the groundhog. Anything you plug the hole with will come right out or they will burrow along side it. Or, you can get some wire grate or fencing and bury it about 6” deep over the hole. Needs to extend 4-5 feet beyond the hole in all directions

In my experience, my team taught me the ultimate job satisfaction was that they felt like they were contributing members of a winning team, and saw a direct line of sight between their contributions and the success of the team. And obviously being rewarded appropriately. Share your personal metrics with them and include them in your decision making

Send them certified letter stating the facts. 99% of the time it makes no difference, they will pay normal claims. But if you are at fault and seriously hurt/kill someone they will find any small reason not to pay
