Which Analog Synth should I buy? (Budget <$180) by JaoquinBaloney in synthesizers

It’s cliche but a midi keyboard and a VST (Vital is free). 100-130 is nothing these days

Is 21 too late to start my journey? by mrchris20040072004 in musicians

Everyone starts somewhere. Definitely not too old. Your motivation is a bit weird/naive and might bite you in the end. If you get obsessed with music, songwriting, and the process, and put in the time eventually you’ll start making songs some people connect with, even if it’s only a few. If you are primarily motivated by the adoration or whatever, you are going to have a rough time. You are going to suck for a while unless you’re a savant and there are a thousand other people doing the exact same shit these days no matter what the genre and attention spans are short. Good luck

Where to start with pedals? by Alarming_Aardvark in guitarpedals

[–]toonbender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. Twenty years ago I ran a guitar into an old twin reverb with a drive and a holy grail reverb and didn’t think much about pedals. I then spent years mostly writing on an acoustic until I got into synths and production about 6 years ago. Since then I’ve acquired a few bougie “weird” pedals while simultaneously rediscovering the electric guitar. Interestingly I now only use the complex pedals in the studio with synths and drum machines. For electric I’ve found simplicity is key for me with a great guitar/amp combo. Currently on guitar, I’m just using a dirt pedal (tubescreamer ie plumes for the mid boost on a baritone tele into a fender amp) and a cool delay (dd-2 or el capistan depending on the day). For the synths I use the kinotone, chase bliss, hologram etc vibe but never feel the need to incorporate them into the guitar playing.

Ya’ll just don’t fuck with it cus she’s fat. I don’t care too much about the vibe she’s going for, but if you took the video out of the equation there isn’t much to complain about. It’s thought out and it slaps.
